If a person has a legal AR15, can he/she trade it to someone for their AR15 that is built on an 80% lower that has no markings/stamped numbers on it? I know someone that wants to do this and I told them that I wasn't sure it was legal to do so, but that I'd check on my AR15.com forums to see if it is or isn't

I would really appreciate it if you're not sure to not take a guess at answering this question. Thanks in advance.

Yes. Both guns are legal in Texas and can be bought sold or traded like any other. No need to mark the unmarked one.

@PopGunner

Supposedly you can sell an 80% that you finished. You however are not allowed to complete 80% lowers for the sole purpose of reselling.

I think it all comes down to your wording.

I have this question myself-- in Florida. How (where) would I go about finding out what steps to take regarding selling completed 80% lowers?
I've recently had surgery to repair my blown out shoulder and doubt my ability to enjoy shooting like I used to- it may be time to pare down.

I don't have much and my kids aren't going to take up where I left off...

I just don't want to inadvertently do the wrong thing...
