Add All State to your fucked list. They kept raising my homeowner's insurance rates (0 claims over a dozen years) without notifying me. My mortgage would increase and did so over 3 years. On the 3rd year it increased so much (like they were waiting to see if I was paying attention) I called their office and chewed on them. Then I had to jump through a week's worth of hoops just to cancel. |

Quoted: His policy will spell out discounts, conditions, etc. OP, did you read your policy? Just wait till you get the earned premium invoice. I look the policy over, mostly for what's covered, bodily injury, property damage, etc. Is the earned premium invoice some fear porn for me? If you'd care to explain I'm all ears. |
|
Quoted: Did I understand the OP. You lost a discount for a multi policy due to dropping your home insurance and you are not aware that affects your cost? I'm confused too. Usually you bundle to save. The more you bundle the more you save. He may still be getting a multi vehicle discount, but no homeowners discount as he doesn't have homeowners ins through them. |

Renter=POORS @Tucoshovels to verify the home owner discount, generally a copy of your homeowner's policy satisfies - it's weird that it didn't for you (my suspicion is dipshit call center person is the problem). Also you could send a copy of your property tax bill, or even a copy of your county tax assessor's website listing of your property. Anyway, sounds like you got a solution by changing companies. |
I'm old enough to remember WAY back when Progressive was tiny, and like 90th tier. When I was young and had a motorcycle and a lot of speeding tickets, they were the only blokes that would insure me. Back then I'd never heard of them, and I suspect they didn't have any money for commercials.

Quoted: I've been a Progressive customer for 5+ years, I'm the perfect customer, no claims and I pay for the full year when due. I bundled my home owners insurance through Progressive, Nationwide was the insurer, but it was through Progressive. That policy ended last December 2021. Now I just have auto and motorcycle bundled through Progressive. Sorry OP. I never knew a company would give you a discount for a policy that is not with the same company. You removed the policy that got you the discount with them and are upset you no longer get the discount. All of my mutli policy discounts are because they are with the same company. My other insurance does not offer me any discounts because they aren't insuring my other assets. |

Thanks for your input. Edit: Their policy is to give you a discount for being a home owner. It has nothing to do with home insurance. Call an insurance company for a quote for motorcycle/auto insurance. They will ask if you rent or own. |

Quoted: I've saved more than 50% by switching my car and renters insurance from Progressive to Erie. Fuck Progressive. I have Erie as well, just reduced my auto to $599/year after a routine discussion with the agent and letting him know I no longer drive to work, so get a drive for pleasure only discount. Plus I'm bundled. I like the agency and the company so far. Never had a claim of course |

Quoted: Alabama? Try ALFA or Farm Bureau next time. SF will disappoint you pretty quickly for some reason or another. I had Farm Bureau before Progressive. Their rates are high and on top of that you got to pay that "club" fee or whatever it was. Never heard of ALFA thanks |

Had home & auto with Progressive. Progressive sends me letter that they are not going to renew my homeowners in 4 months to reduce their hurricane exposure. My house is only a couple years old and I've had no claims. I don't like this shit. Call agent to go ahead and shop homeowners for me; she said Progressive was not renewing everybody around here. I found homeowners with a different company for a bit cheaper, though it has higher deductibles, and went ahead and canceled Progressive homeowners. I suppose I'll be seeing higher auto premium with Progressive now since I canceled the homeowners but it would have happened when they didn't renew me anyway. I shopped auto too but the other prices I got were higher. Having two teen drivers is brutal on auto insurance. |

Quoted: This is why I went with State Farm, I'm saving over $300 on home insurance vs. Progressive, but the auto is higher, that's why I was happy with progressive. I just can't wait to see what my adjustment(State Farm) will be due the cost of materials. Already been warned my rates are going up |

Already been warned my rates are going up One of the CS reps (I think All State) told me the replacement cost of my home, brick ranch. It's more than Zillow says my house is worth and I was pretty happy with the amount Zillow said it was worth. I just hope if it crashes those fuckers bring the rates back down. Good luck! |

I bundled my home owners insurance through Progressive, Nationwide was the insurer, but it was through Progressive. That policy ended last December 2021. Now I just have auto and motorcycle bundled through Progressive. Monday I get this https://i.postimg.cc/4yL6wmmq/Screenshot-13.png I think this is a simple error since I pay the entire year and the dates are funky. I call customer service and find out I have lost my home owners discount for my motorcycle policy, auto policy wasn't affected. I explain the issue, get transferred, I explain the issue to the new CS rep and he says he doesn't see any home owners policy on record to prove I'm a home owner and raises his voice and argues with me. I'm not happy obviously, but I didn't curse him out, I know I'm in the right. I tell him to cancel the policy, you've lost a customer. He gleefully does it. (i did not cancel auto yet) I get this email [url]https://i.postimg.cc/L6NXc9bN/Screenshot-11.png I call around for a new insurer, a sales lady explains she can see I'm a homeowner and he could have easily done the same without me sending in proof. She explained I needed to call them back and get a refund as a home owner. Not a refund with the non-home owner rates. I call Progressive back with my old home insurance policy #(ended Dec 2021)and the lady looks it up, puts me on hold for a long time, comes back and explains my old policy doesn't prove I'm a home owner, lots of curse words may have slipped out. I call back several times to argue, I finally send in an approved document at their request to show home ownership... My property taxes paid in full 2021. I give them 1 day for review and call back. The Progressive rep gleefully explains after a long hold, that my property tax receipt doesn't prove there is a house on the land. I explain the receipt has land value and improvement value (house was built in the 70s). But unfortunately it doesn't state home value. I call and demand a supervisor, she acts like she wants to retain my business and looks up my house on google maps along with tax receipt and gives me the homeowner discount. I let her know they lost my business for wasting my time and calling me a liar. She states, Sir no one called you a liar https://i.postimg.cc/KvXr1NGd/Screenshot-10.png I'm now bundled with State Farm. I still have to call Progressive and cancel my auto policy, they've wasted hours of my time. Not to be petty, but is there a way to return the favor? Edit: Spam on my pictures. I dumped those assholes years ago. By the way, there's a reason the company is called "Progressive". It's not because they thought the name sounded cool. |
