Based on the thread found here I have unscientifically compiled GDs choice of .380 ACP semiautomatic pocket pistols. Here are the top 9, as no other pistols in the previous thread received more than 3 recommendations.
Preferably this is the pistol you choose to carry while pocket carrying and not a safe queen. Results from previous thread: 1. Ruger LCP Max - 29 votes 2. Ruger LCP - 25 votes 3. Glock 42 - 18 votes 4. S&W M&P Bodyguard 380 - 12 votes 5. Ruger LCP II - 10 votes 6. Sig P238 - 8 votes 7. Kel-tec P3AT - 7 votes 8. Colt Mustang - 7 votes 9. Kahr P380 - 7 votes |

I went .32. Just picked up a Seecamp at the gunshow. Always wanted one since reading Leroy Thompson's article about his "speedo" gun back in the 80s.

I like the LCP Max. It prints more than the single-stack .380s like the Beretta Pico, but the shootability is much better due to the excellent sights (by pocket rocket standards) and wider grip. For most people the small increase in printing won't matter. The doubling of ammo capacity over single-stack .380s is nice.

G42 shoots well for its size. It's what I carry when I need something smaller than a G19.

LCP, not really an enjoyable to shoot gun or anything.
I’ve had to beat the slide open before with a rubber mallet or actually shoot it because I can’t manually cycle it due to the sweat/rust. Still been extremely reliable. It absolutely disappears in your pocket. Light enough it doesn’t bounce around punching me in the thigh when running either. |

Glock 42 is the softest shooting and most out of the box accurate small .380 I have handled. I did not want to like it but it would venture to say it is a better small gun than the 43.

Post Interarms/pre S&W PPK.
Interarms PPK/s. Both run flawlessly. They will eat Federal Hydra-Shocks like candy, which is unusual. |

Ruger LC380
It's bigger, but still fits in a pocket holster nicely. I've shot the LCP and the Bodyguard, and hated them. My LC380 was far more controllable, with better sights. I sold it to a friend after I bought my Sig P938. About the same size, with an arguably better cartridge. |

Keltec P3AT is missing from the poll. I realize that most people think of Keltec as a garbage.
The P3AT and the P32 are amazingly reliable guns that Ruger waited for the patent expiration to make. |

View Quote The Kel-tec P3AT was intentionally excluded due to lack of recommendations in the preliminary thread. Obviously a methodology based solely on one GD thread has flaws. And you are limited to only 6 poll questions. Unfortunately for Kel-tec lovers it was a 3 way tie for 7th place. For being a gun only released in 2021 the LCP Max has a significant following. Likely due to its best in class capacity to overall size ratio. |

I owned and carried an LCP, moved up to a Glock because sights extended it's usable range 5 fold. The Ruger was excellent and accurate, just only in close

Wife carries a P238 Legion. We have a Kel-Tec P3AT, but she didn't care for shooting it.
I occasionally carry a Springfield 911 .380 when I want something quick to grab and go, but normally carry a P938. |

While the G42 is a fantastically accurate 380 and super easy to shoot, it's just too big for me to pocket carry without majorly printing.
I's have to choose either the Colt Mustang or the Sig 238, because they both just drop in and disappear. None of the LCP's I have shot and some owned, were as accurate as the Sig or Colt. |

I have to assume most people who vote LCP, simply haven't held the Max yet. Actually, I assume that for pretty much all votes.
I carried the OG for 10 years. The Max is so much nicer in pretty much every way. It's hard to imagine a better pocket pistol. |

I have really enjoyed and gotten decent at shooting my S&W, but I am thinking about "upgrading" to an LCP Max. I have a Glock 42, but it is too big.

I have an LCP Custom that typically serves as a backup in my offhand pocket. Occasionally grab it for quick trips to the corner store.
The Glock 42 is the gun that I take when I have to travel via airline. Fits in a small TSA approved case along with one flush fit mag, two +1rd mags, and a plastic box with 50 rds of assorted ammo. The flush mag and pocket holster work great for deeper concealment. The extended mag, plus one in the chamber, give me 8rds on the belt. Either way, I carry one spare +1 mag. Most importantly, every member of my family is very comfortable with shooting the 42. So if something happens to me, or I need to hand it off, anyone can use it confidently. The same can't be said for my Shield Plus, and 43X. So if I could only have one, the 42. |

I only pocket carry a few times a year, this whatever is good enough for that. When I pocket carry, it's usually a Kahr CM40, but if I have to go smaller, it's the Keltec. |

LCP Max dude. 13 rounds of .380 in a tiny package is no slouch.

RM380 saved me from getting eaten by a loose pit-bull so it gets my vote.

No pocket carry for me.
But really like the 42, tuned trigger, Zex shoe, Ameriglo sights, Hogue grip cover, TT+2. +P Underwood ammo is all I feed it except for practice ammo. |
