I spent a day this week down in the French Quarter. Here's a few from a personal project, People of New Orleans.

As embarrassing as it is, today is the first day I've taken the camera gear out of the case and used it in over a month.  Just been feeling cruddy with all the medical stuff going on, but I'm trying to work out of my funk.

Mocked up the upper off my wife's gun on my ADM UIC lower just to see what it looked like.

In order to only light what I needed on such a small subject, I used a small flashlight to paint it. Exposures were f10 and about 20-30 seconds each. I used the wireless app on my phone to control shutter. Camera Fuji X-H1 with 18-135mm lens.

Final image, just a few touchups to eliminate imperfections in the paint finish.

I’ve bought most of it through eBay and gotten it for about half price which is not bad. It will last forever and better to cry once.
That said, I do have more than I’m willing to admit as when you see it for a deal it’s hard to resist!

The fact that they also do stuff for firearms is great, and has tied into their photo line with the QD sling attachments on everything these days. They added them to the tripods and the camera brackets, so now my camera strap or tripod carry can be my Magpul sling.

Yeah, I love those QD points they've started adding.  RRS is the LaRue of photo gear.

I'm glad I'm not the only one to use a magpul sling. I have an old ms2 I use for mine, albeit without the mounting plate. I just use swivels on either the foot of my 200-500, or my battery pack.

Thanks man! It has been a very popular shot. He didn't exactly give me a long time to get a shot off, I got exactly one frame with him in that pose so I'm lucky the focus is as good as it is

You are going to like the drone.  It will open up a lot of new opportunities.  The opportunity to crash, being one of them.

Oh, and ditch the DJI bag, and get a Tenba BYOB that will hold the drone, controller and a couple of batteries.  There's no reason for the charger to be in the same bag; it just takes up space when you are on the go.
