About two frames before this was better, but there wasn't the sense of speed from the clouds that was in this frame. Since our assignment/contest for the day in my IG group was 'speed', I went with this one.

I'll get around to processing the other frame eventually.

Still haven't started on my SIL's wedding, though

While I was scrolling down and didn't see the text, I go "that's gotta be Garden of The God". Sure enough it was.

I really miss living out there and getting to see that on a daily basis.

Ha! Here's my version from the Leesburg airshow on 30 Sep.

I don't suppose you were at that show, were you?  (I know your photo wasn't from JYO.)

Nice!

No, I wasn't at that show. This was at Culpeper a few weeks back.

Just processed it.

First, NOT MY PIC!!  One of the friends I made during my tour of duty in Hawaii now works for the Hawaii Dept. of Forestry, and caught this Hawaiian Hawk last week out in the woods.

The Hawaiian hawk or ?io (Buteo solitarius) is a raptor of the Buteo genus endemic to Hawai?i, currently restricted to the Big Island. Buteos tend to be easily recognized by their bulky bodies relative to their overall length and wingspan. The ?io is the only hawk that is native to Hawai?i, and fossil evidence indicates that it inhabited the island of Hawai?i, Moloka?i, O?ahu, and Kaua?i at one time.[2] Today, it is known to breed only on the Big Island, in stands of native ?ohi?a lehua (Metrosideros polymorpha) trees. The species is protected as an endangered species in the United States.

Box Canyon Falls in Ouray, Colorado. (Apparently pronounced "you-RAY" by the locals.)

The waterfall is almost entirely hidden from view behind a very narrow slit in the box canyon. This is the stream immediately below the falls from that slit (positioned behind the camera in this view) as it flows out of the "box" toward the town.

Rookie here, just bought a used Nikon a little over a week ago.

Nikon D3300, 18-55mm Nikon lense. The only lense that I own right now.

Bowe Bergdahl, center, leaves the Fort Bragg Courthouse dressed in civilian clothes after being sentenced to a dishonorable discharge, demotion to E-1, and forfeiture of $1,000 a month for 10 months. Bergdahl had pleaded guilty to all charges including desertion and misbehavior before the enemy. These charges came from Bergdahl walking off his post in Afghanistan in 2009. You're getting there.  Could still use some minor post work, and maybe crop it in a bit more.

What kind of post work would you suggest?  I'm still more to learn with lightroom and just started messing with photoshop.

This isn't everything, but it's most of my settings.

Moon Lightroom Settings by FredMan, on Flickr

Moon 20171026 by FredMan, on Flickr

Basically what I'm trying to do is increase tonal contrast between light and dark areas, sharpen, and increase "depth".  A lot of it is you just have to play around with Tone and Presence.  And cropping to "increase" image size.

This is the as-shot version.
