FLA boomers should remain indoors with the heat turned up high and have pots of water boiling all day. Do not go outside without a portable humidifier and lotion on all exposed skin. Hydrate often to avoid dehydration during this unusually risky weather event. Check your local weather forecasts for updates.

Not just boomers. I went to sleep with the AC kicked on last night after a day at the beach. It’s 43 outside now and 60 in the house - it’s fucking cold.

When I lived in the Keys there was a “cold snap.” It got down to like 52°. Everyone in town looked like they were off to summit Mt. Everest.

It might be a good idea to turn the AC off.

I miss having a smart thermostat where you set a high and low temperature and it does the work for you. That will be corrected in a few weeks when I have the hvac serviced.

It is 51° now.

I am a FL boomer and have no idea what you are talking about.
I don't turn on the heat I open the windows

Years ago at a event for new members it was 38 and some fellow RSOs wanted to start a pool on if I would still wear shorts

They did not start the pool cuz not one person thought I wouldn't and they were right

At a family event some relatives and neighbors were complaining a few weeks ago about the stretch of cold and having their windows shut and the heat at 70.
I literally laughed at them. It was great to see 60 for indoor temps although I had to wear a T-shirt instead on no shirt

All Florida boomers are pansies, all Germans are Nazis, all Jews are cheap, all blacks are criminals, all Glock owners are gay (that one may be true) all Irish are alcoholics (OK, that one is true, calling an Irishman and alcoholic is redundant) all democrats are idiots (that one is indisputable)

Doesn't even have to be a smart thermostat. We've had thermostats that do that for 20+ years at work. I have one in my house!

We know that when it gets cold here it is because of a front that made it a lot more cold elsewhere.

We real Floridians enjoy the cool fronts because we know soon it will be hot as hell. It is good to sleep every once in awhile without the AC running.

This is best time of the year in Florida. We had great mild sunny weather for the last few weeks. This last weekend was perfect. This cool spell will only last for a couple of days and then on Friday we will get some much needed rain and then after that a couple of more weeks of perfect weather.

As far as being a Boomer Fud. I am going out to the range tomorrow morning to shoot my Class III M-16. I bought the M-16 in the 1970s when it was only $25 (plus stamp) more than an AR. I have plenty of ammo to waste shooting F-A. What will you be doing tomorrow morning?
