Must have been his jacket, or maybe his finger on the trigger. IDK.
Montville police officer’s handgun went off inside the Montville Police Department |

I know this site has its share of "Sig can do no wrong" fanboys, but after watching multiple Sig drop tests with empty-but-primed brass, and watching it go bang, I won't go near one of those ever.

Hard to tell on my phone. Was it the cop who was bending over to grab the kids legs?
I just asked for video evidence in the last thread. Thanks |
|
Why did it wait until he bent down and then stood up to fire? It just waited until that exact moment instead of firing for the previous hours while the guy was just standing?

The holster was pushed up against the other cop as he did, then the gun fired. I'll also note that the gun fires when he starts to stand back up. |

Glad we finally have video proof of a holstered gun going off. Sig had an amazing opportunity to be the best striker fired pistol on the planet, they fucked that up royally. |

interesting.
Where is the rest of the video? Why cut it off there? |

Can anyone confirm that the holster was a Safariland? Kinda looks like it

Kinda looked like he brushed the gun up against the other officer's belt area. What holster was it? Some of the Safariland light bearing holsters have too much of the trigger guard area exposed on the P320 IMO. It's bad enough that guys say they can easily reach in with their finger and pull the trigger while the gun is holstered.

We had one of these within the past day. The Sig can do wrong crew were absolutely certain this was not occurring. It has now occurred on video. Is it that far of a stretch to believe that this can happen?
I could drop my 320 onto my carpet from 6-8" off of the ground and the striker would fire. Is it not perceivable to some that the same part(s) that allow this "feature" to occur, after rounds have been through the gun, that they wear down further to the point where they fail with a sudden/jerky movement? And also, this could not have come at a more appropriate time, with Sig being sued by several people throughout the cuntry. "Ladies and gentleman of the jury, Sig 320's are known to shoot when not being handled. My clients have been harmed by this 'feature,' watch this video. I rest my case." LMAO!! |
|
I keep an open mind. But unless there is a better view of something else happening that is no bueno.

Ok, I've defended Sig before, but that one is pretty damning. Probably one of the clearer videos we've seen and the gun is clearly holstered.
SIG SUPERIORITY. |

Yet sig has yet to settle outside court and every case that has gone ti court has been decided in favor for Sig.
I clearly remember lots of cases of Glock getting sued, but people seem to forget this.. |

Don't 320s keep the striker partially cocked unlike every other striker design? Why is so hard to believe that jarring it hard enough could let the striker loose with enough velocity to ignite the primer.
