We switched from white mini incandescent lights to LED C9s this year. I like the more ordered look of the C9s better.

C9 Master Race checking in. LEDs, but they look like warm white Edison bulbs. "Cool" white (>4000 Kelvin) Christmas lights of any kind are .

Rainbow colored lights are absolute shit, unless the goal is to make your house look like a cheap traveling carnival. It's Christmas, not a used car lot.
White lights. Red/green lights. The end. |

My wife got a warning from the city on her lights being on 24/7/365….some vines had grown over the sensor and we were not full time residents and failed to notice it.

I still rock the C9's as my main strip of lights across the front eve. LED's for windows and other stuff.

Whoever came up with those needs punched in the dick. I know you can get warm white LEDs now if you shop correctly but can you even get warmer multi-color lights these days? The only ones I've ever seen out there are distinctly cooler looking than traditional incandescent multi-color lights. I still run incandescent lights for now. |

Been hanging white icicle lights for about 10 years and am done with them. Last year we had some issues with them and I'm not chasing problems this year. Thinking about going with the larger c9 type preferably in white LED. Is there a good online retailer that would have them cheaper or should I just head to my local big box retailer?

What about LED C9's computer controlled to look like old school C9s? Roofline is 6" spaced C9's

Availability kinda sucks right now in the stores
i bought a big roll of led minis at Sam's Club early last month and I have not seen any re stock |

Regular cheap $3 a box mini lights. They always end up not working the next year so I just consider them disposable. i'm not spending hours chasing shorts when I can buy enough to bury the house for $50.
This year it's all red. Last year was all green. It will never be all white. |

C9 master race here. The incandescent ones, not the LED abominations where the blue bulbs look like they are in another dimension.

I've always done C9 multicolored lights either around the front of the house or front gate. Changed over to LED lights a few years ago.
I do like the look of all white lights and some of the small towns around here do a bluish tinted white lights around the town squares that look good. |

I would love to be able to switch to LED but won’t compromise on appearance. |

All white minis.
Never liked the C9s. Multicolor minis are alright on the tree if I’m feeling nostalgic. ?? |
|
I think the solid colors look better, classier, but while the kids are younger we put up multi-colored mini LED lights for the fun factor since they seem to prefer them as well as the ease and cost factor of the small lights.

We have a house here that has been doing the Grizwold family vacation Christmas lights on their house. Their neighbors must hate them. I don’t know what bulbs he uses except for all of them.

Quoted: Old School incandescent Charlie niners.... View Quote Me too, and sometimes less is more. I like the first pic in the OP. I like all white, but not as much as color. SOme sort of yard art needs to go with the white. The computerized light shows are really cool, but the average person is a bit challenged on those. Anyone can do simple outline lights. |

Old school C9s reminds me of being a kid
However i can not find any screw in LED C9 style lights. Not even sure they exist |

Good old incandescent C9s. While I like the idea of the energy savings and LONG runs you can get with LEDs, I have yet to see any that don’t look like…..LEDs.
Excuse the potato pic Attached File |

I like color changing LED lights that don't look like LED lights.

We replaced a few bulbs but otherwise it held up fine. |

None--I hate exterior Christmas lighting. I hate putting up the lights and I hate taking them down. We still have a couple crates of lights but I refuse to put them up anymore.

I need to do better. Rocking the laser lights ( I have 6 of them) for the 3rd or 4th year. I forget. Plus it's so damn easy to set up and forget about.

Colored lights are my favorite but I appreciate all Christmas lights.
