Teaching Animal Farm in class and having kids discuss how wonderful everything is now that the animals are in charge, and then they get to chapter 4 and start questioning why the pigs are starting to take control of everything. By chapter 6 most of the class is

I'd like to suggest adding both "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress", by Robert Heinlein, and "We", by Yevgeny Zamyatin to the list of good dystopian literature.
"We" was one of the earliest novels in that sort of style and was said to have influenced Orwell, Huxley, etc. Great book. |
