I'm glad the global posts per page was changed to 50 from 25 in GD. Would it be possible to let people choose 25, 40, 50, 75, or 100 posts per page? Additional request related would be "do not load images", so a link would click to load just that image to display, maybe if image is over 20k or something, display that instead.
This would solve two issues:
1) Low bandwidth users, or people on wonky connections being able to load the most recent/last page more quickly.
2) Save HUGE amounts of database storage by eliminating the "I own Page xxxx" posts, along with the 10 posts both preceeding and following trying to 'own' that page.
This could be a drop down selection per thread, or a global option in user preferences on posts to display per page. I know going too high would be a database load. Another option would be the infinite scrolling page, so after hitting the bottom of 40 loaded posts, it would load the next 50 automatically, remembering where you were in the scroll. This would only work for shorter threads under maybe a dozen pages, I could see browsers getting overloaded on 100+ page threads trying to load all posts with images.
This can also be completely ignored, such as my problem with uploading images to the media server and having the color messed up because fingerprinting isn't correct or something.
