Out and about carrying a Ruger GP100 2.5” .357 loaded with 158gr blazers and a couple speed strips. Now at the pizza joint having a root beer with other open carriers.
Get out and open carry! |

Fuck. That.
People who Open Carry when it's 22 degrees outside, are forking morons. I'll wait until it warms up. Like 50-ish type warms up. |

Would the suppressed Hk in a leg drop holster be overkill?
Asking for a friend. |

It's 24/7 open carry here, except in no weapon posted locations

I wish people open carried more here in the summer when it's blazing hot but wearing a gun belt over my coat seems like a lot of work

Attention whore thread?
Open carrying just to open carry and then using a wheel gun just reinforces all the stereotypes I have about people who open carry. It should be and is legal thankfully. But it's dumb. Oh so dumb. |

I ate breakfast at a resort hotel yesterday. I was carrying, but not openly. It just wasn't the place.
Too cold, went home and stayed in the rest of the day. |

I really don't get the point of open carry. Are trying to draw attention to yourself?

I do not open carry, because I need to exit the AO unless the bad guy is blocking my exit. Open carry means you might be the first person shot at.

I have never open carried yet.
For me, it serves no practical purpose at all. In my world if you see it, it will likely be drawn out and someone will likely be in trouble. |

View Quote Not carrying at all might mean you're the first person shot. Who knows? I'm not going to live scared of my own shadow. Unless you can predict the future, you're talking out your ass, which appears to be a growing trend in this thread. Didn't start that way, but didn't take long. Probably not the best idea to believe every theory you hear at the LGS or gun show. |

In my County, an man was semi-concealed carrying his firearm. A woman walked up behind him, stole his firearm and held him at gunpoint demanding money. The clerk and LTC holder (victim) approached her and she fled the scene with the stolen firearm. She inadvertently left her purse with her ID and address in the store. The police went to her address and arrested her and retrieved the stolen firearm. Just FYI, don't open carry if you do not have a job, or a task that requires it.

I see I didn't enter this thread fast enough to beat the "open carry is for suckers" blowhards.
Open carry if you want to open carry. Conceal carry if you want to conceal carry. I know better than to expect GD to agree with "live and let live," but c'mon, this is a conversation that involves exercising gun rights. |

i open carry all the time. never get a second glance from anyone.

I will OC in summer when DeSantis gets that thru the legislature. If I'm wearing a jacket or vest, CCW in a shoulder rig.
We had OC in PA, and living in a rural area, it was not unusual. |

Oh I don't care if someone open carries at all. Their business. I still think it's dumb. I still think it's almost always someone just trying to show off and get attention. But they can do what they want. Don't try to make my post into something it's not.

To each their own. I prefer to conceal carry
If you want to open carry go ahead do so. |

Open carry when practical, conceal when practical.
When it's 95° outside and you're carrying your Super Blackhawk, open carry is the only way. When you're in Walmart shopping for chips a 9mm appendix carry is most practical. Is it really so hard?? |

It's year round comfortable and an untucked shirt hides it from 99% of the people. |
