Place a white pad under the area, dry the bolt well and give it a day or two to see if there is still a leak.

Take some brake cleaner in a can and wash that whole thing off with the spray while a rag in underneath. That little bit of diesel will smell for weeks just being damp.

Measure the bolt diameter, go to the auto parts store and buy a oil bolt/plug washer that will fit over the threads. Fiber or aluminum crush type doesn't matter other then if aluminum, buy a couple once you find the correct size.

When the filter housing leaked on our boiler filter i had to clean it completely and used the gaskets that came with the new filter.
Make sure you put the filter in right too.
Also make sure you did not cock the filter housing when installing it as it can seep.

The whole assembly is cheap if you can’t get yours to seal. Or just crank the hell out of it, if it breaks replace it. Do you have a shutoff before the filter?  You should.
