Cool thread! I guess I will participate.

I started my diet on December 26. It’s a pretty simple concept, I’m trying to lose 10 pounds per month so I have a graph that creates a 10 pound per month slope. Every morning I weigh myself and if I’m over the green line then I don’t eat anything.

On the days where my weight is below the green line I pretty much eat whatever I want the orange line is the trend line or the prediction line.

so far I’ve lost 12 pounds. My goal is 20 to 25 by March 1.

I lift a lot but also eat a lot.  I'd be thrilled with 210lbs.  Currently 111 days sober.  Started carnivore last night.

I'm back up 2lbs after the Superbowl weekend.  Considering that I completely swined-out (sodas, fried chicken, pizza, etc)....not too bad.

Back on the wagon this morning.

@-CUJO-

Embarrassed to explain how clueless I was.

Dec 26 I started OMAD Carnivore. I found if I had an instant pudding with whipped cream in midafternoon and at 7:30 I could skip breakfast and dinner
no problem. No cheating on my meals but maybe a piece of toast w jelly went well with my morning coffee, not a meal so not a cheat.
And cashews mixed with peanuts or trail mix gave me salt that I craved, but again not a meal so not a cheat. I told my wife weekly how much I enjoyed
my pistachio pudding…….it removed any need to eat a cheat meal or eat potato chips more than when there where just there and available.

Surprisingly, I was also increasingly disturbed on how little weight I was losing. On Sunday past I somehow got it through my head sugar and carbs consumed translated to not being on carnivore. Sunday I went no carbs, no sugar, eating meat or eggs and some cheese.

I have been working my ass off exercising and my total inches and BMI have both dropped since 1-1, and think I have made a turn mentally.

@calder

That’s fantastic! I was just curious because it seemed to me that you should be dropping more weight faster with carnivore or keto.  You are much, much more active than I am so something appeared amiss somewhere.

I am definitely not an expert on this and I was 5’ 9” and 190ish pounds not too long ago.  The weight had just slowly started creeping up on me.  I really didn’t know what to do but knew I needed to do something.  I stumbled upon the keto thread here and decided to go that route.  I got down into the low 160’s in less than 3 months or so.

Regarding exercise, I usually hit the rowing machine 4x a week.  After 32 minutes or so on the rower, it says that I burn roughly 394 calories.  All of that work and effort and I only burn 394 calories! lol.  I can eat that many calories in minutes if I snack/cheat.  What I’m getting at is that for me, now that I’m at my goal weight, it is so much easier to watch my portions rather than try to exercise it off.  If I was still trying to drop weight, I’d be staying away from carbs/sugars.

I’ve been able to maintain 158-162 lbs for the past 6 years.  Nowadays, I eat almost anything within reason, but have a good idea of how much I’ve consumed and what it takes to burn it off.  I realize everyone is different but that’s just my .02.

Good luck, brother.  You got this!

@-CUJO-

Thanks for the kind words and encouragement.  It is easy to fall by the wayside. Saw a Dan John video this week on strength standards for men in their sixties. The take away I got was 1 in 20 exercise so the easy comparison is do you work out or exercise?

Should explain why we look the way we do.

218 to 202 from 2/1 to today 3/13

Cut out a ton of carbs and sugar. Got my caloric intake to sub 1600 calories per day and thats where my body is most happy.
