I haven't seen much TB-2 footage recently. it does seem to have slowed down. I am still very curious why the Russians allowed them such freedom in the first days; the TB-2 is intended for an air superiority environment, it's not stealth or anything (although Armenian Osa SAMS had trouble with it) and should be vulnerable to modern systems like 9k22 Tunguska, so why the fuck did the Russian military allow them to romp around for so long. There's plenty of stuff in their doctrine about road march security, so why didn't they follow it? |

Right out of the USSR Red Army handbook - some of the WW2 stories of German family committing mass suicide to escape the Raping Red Army. I'm wondering if was partially due to the nazis anti-partisan operations in the Soviet Union. They would round up people in villages, put them in wood buildings, then burn down the buildings with Soviet citizens in it. Read about the Dirlewanger brigade. Also, the nazis were planning on wiping out the Slav populations and repopulating those areas with ethnic Germans. |

I've been reading up on this guy. He's one of those "rises to the occasion" leaders that hard times require. He truly does seem like a good person. He doesn't seem to have an ego. There was some big hostage crisis a couple years ago where the bad guy agreed to release hostages if Zelenskyy promoted some film on the internet. Z immediately did it, much to the criticism of others. He doesn't seem to be swayed by politicians, but the people under his care. He said it wasn't a big deal and the lives were worth more. (from the little I've read about this) He's also offering putin to talks, saying "I won't bite." What we wouldn't give to have a leader like that in our country today. |

It's extremely unlikely they're going to cause any kind of significant radiation release, but it is still extremely idiotic that they're fighting with heavy weapons near these plants. Regardless, most of the fears are overblown. I'm still in favor of Ukraine using it for propaganda to scare people, though. It's smart info war. |
