Because if people had their way, Monaco would not be on the schedule--in which case this moment would have never happened.

We’ll see how Canada goes.  Think McLaren is a slightly bigger threat to Red Bull than Ferrari, but are handicapped by having a bigger deficit.  But not counting Max out.  It’s clear that both teams have made a big step to put actual pressure on Red Bull.

I mean, generally, everyone is usually pretty happy when someone wins their home race, and this one had been alluding him for 5 years, like it was a curse.

Fairly standard Monaco. Happy for sharl, hope @shung hasn't celebrated dangerously hard. I enjoyed the chat from the drivers about tyres. There was a lot going on, even if there wasn't a lot..going on.

Congrats to Charles.

But its fucking time for this race to be removed.  Basically impossible to pass cars....and Hards/Mediums last 70+++ laps. If that doesn't tell you there's a fucking problem with this race then I don't know what does.

Monaco is what it is. Watch the '91 race posted above if you have time; little has changed in 33 years. Also the 2001 race with DC stuck behind Bernoldi is another one.

It isn't going anywhere. Combine almost perfect reliability and tyres that can't really be leaned on, and it's never going to be any better.

You mandate pitstops all that happens is everyone is on the same strategy, and it becomes exactly the same thing again.

I wasn’t able to watch this morning and was doing a really good job avoiding spoilers until a I saw a picture of Carlos and Charles spraying the bubbly.

Then I saw the top ten finished how they started. I think I may actually skip watching the race.

Kind of funny because the wife and I met our new house sitter for while we are in Montreal. She wanted to know if I wanted to keep watching the race while she met her and gave a tour. I said "nope, it will be exactly like we left it.".  Sure was.

Yuki has shown some growth.

We’re gonna need a new poll question though. Can’t count on Ocon running into his own teammate anymore for points.

I could see Yuki melting down at RB next to Max. I mean look at Bahrain this year. Now imagine that scenario every weekend.

Probably why Yuki isn’t on the table to partner with Max. It’s either going to be Sainz, Lawson or Checo.

RB would be crazy to resign Checo with the way Ferrari and McLaren have turned up the heat. Checo is a liability.

Honestly I think they need Bottas if they can’t get Sainz. Lawson gets a full season of VCARB.

I though that if you were in front, you had the racing line.  If your line was 6 inches from the wall, it was still your line.

They were on a straight and not going into a turn. If it was a turn then an argument could be made that KMag would’ve needed to bail out.

Edit - A straight by Monaco’s standards.

Max will beat him on Merit.   Sainz would be an amazing #2 driver - like Bottas to Hamilton.   He would make Max better (and cement Max's legacy fighting against a good #2).

Constructors Championships pay the bills.   Keeping Checo is not in the best interest of the Team.

He can find a seat where they are going to respect him. An RB spot where they're going to tune him down doesn't seem like his thing based on his past.

Too bad Sebring isn't up to F1 standards. I would rather watch them in Sebring than Monaco. Or go to Turkey or Portimao instead. Monaco is boring unless it rains or drivers fuck up (outside of the 1st lap) bringing out a virtual or physical safety car.

The difference being that Ferrari and McLaren each have two competent drivers, and RedBull has only Max. Checo should be doing WEC, that's only about 6 races a year, and about what his brain can handle.
