When you replace the serpentine belt do you also replace the belt tensioner? I have done it both ways, with and with out the belt tensioner. |

It’s a call you have to make. What about the idlers? What about the power steering pump and alternator? Does the water pump have play? How does the harmonic balancer look? Oh damn, that front crank seal is leaking a bit… The coolant is drained, is a thermostat a good idea? You can spend a couple thousand dollars “while the belt is already off”, or you can replace the belt and call it good. |
