I need a small amp for playing electric guitar casually on the back porch. I’m a terrible player but enjoy hanging out. It doesn’t need to be super loud or have a lot of special effects. Any suggestions?

That looks like a good one but more $$$ than I’d like to spend for messing around. Any suggestions at about half of that price?

I don't have experience with these, but...

I'm thinking of getting this one for about $100 - it gets good reviews, but haven't had my hands on one of them (Katana Mini):

This is less than half the price (Monoprice Indio 10-Watt Battery Powered Guitar Amp):

I was going to say something like this.. other similar options: Fender Champion 30 DSP, Roland Cube (any wattage version), Acoustic G35FX. Don't  need anything but some reverb and gain for the porch.

Love my Roland Micro Cube GX
and I have 5 small amps
works great on Batteries, and lasts a long time or plug in.

Thanks for posting that - it sent me down an interesting rabbit hole to learn about that amp and COSM and their related ipad apps...

So much to learn, so little time...

Have been considering one of these myself.  I wish it had a cab output.

I used to like them, but after trying a Peavey Vypyr VIP2 right next to one, the Peavey blew it out of the water in tone and features.

There's always a Pignose. No worries about getting zapped and and definitely a downhome backporch kinda sound...

Went with the Micro Cube GX. Been playing with it for a week or so and it’s perfect for picking on the back porch. Thanks for the suggestions, all.

I love my Boss Katana as a practice amp. Lots of flexibility, especially when you use the Tone Studio when hooked up to your computer.  A smaller option is the Yamaha THR10X and can run on batteries, but I much prefer the sound of the Katana.
