I like telling people they are a phallic symbol, meant to demonstrate a large penis. I mean, look at it. Why do you think it’s been so popular for so long? Don’t you think men look better with a tie on? It’s just a leftover symbol of patriarchy.
...I really enjoy the vaporlock when you say that in a business setting. Especially progressive business types who take PC culture in the workplace VERY seriously. Is it true? IDK. Is it funny? Lololol YES

They are still required in a lot of work places and government jobs.
And President Trump wears one all the time doesn't he? Almost all Western leaders, etc. still wear ties (the men at least). It does not appear to be going away anytime soon. |
