The overwhelming majority of these purchases in NYC are done as an investment vehicles on behalf of ultra wealthy foreigners of firms.
There's a good chance that whomever buys that never rents it out or even steps foot in it. It's just a means of diversification, a store of wealth, in both USD and in the US RE market. |
