The sad thing is that for every person who is fleeing to a "free state" and will contribute to the society in which he will arrive, many more leave their disaster area and then vote for all the crap in their new state that made their old state intolerable in the first place.

The largest age group of people who left NY were between the ages of 55 and 64, followed by those 65 and older. View Quote |

When I moved up there in 2012 for a stint at corporate HQ everyone I met looked at me like I had two heads for relocating to NY. I've never lived someplace with so many miserable people who hated their state.
Leaving that place was one of the happiest days of my life. |

We're number one, we're number one! Nahnahnah! Illinois is dead last on most other lists.

That's great. A few more New Yorkers here in FL and it will turn into a liberal shithole also. Them fools bring their retarded voting practices with them.

They want to spread the cancerous laws they voted for that fucked up NY

In about 20 years, hopefully, the plan is to retire from the state with roughly a $65k-$75k pension and move to a free state. If I wasn't already vested in the retirement system and had young kids and family here, I'd have been gone long ago.

I left four years ago. I recently went back to visit family and friends. This just like every other visit reaffirmed my decision to GTFO!

Odd that Utah is on that list.
It has had the best economy ranked by Forbes for the last few lears only this year to slip to #3. Not that I mind people leaving.... more powder and open space for me. |

Interesting.
Not many states that are either yellow or blue that hold much interest for me. |
