First, sorry for the pics, I used an I potato. I decided to splurge and bought a deluxe Pedersoli 1886 in 45-70. A small shipment of 11 came into the US and I was on the waiting list. The pics do not do it justice, the metal is fantastic, the blue, the colorcase, its all polished and super smooth, no tooling marks.
The American Walnut is highly figured and oiled. Again, the pics don't do it justice. The metal to wood fit is amazing. No stupid safety, it has the traditional half cock hammer. It came drilled and tapped for a receiver or tang sight and they included the replacement long tang screws if you use a Vernier sight. Old world craftsmanship thanks to the Italians. Steel, shotgun style buttplate, 26 inch heavy octagon barrel, 9.4 pounds empty Here is an article discussing the manufacture process story |

I love octagon barrels- there's something special about them.

That is a damn fine looking rifle.
I'd be proud to own something like that. |

I bought the Taylor & Co's version last year.
Amazing quality those rifles. Congratulations on the acquisition! |
|
That's nice. That would be a safe queen at my house. Maybe not, because it might hit something else and get scratched. You did good OP.

I always thought the Winchester 1866 Yellowboy was the prettiest lever gun ever made. But damn, the one you posted is worthy for the discussion too. That is a gorgeous finish.

Wholly Mackerel that is one beautiful rifle...
Congratulations OP what a fine treasure that is. |

@myitinaw
I was calling Taylor's as well but Cimarron is the one who received the shipment in. Both companies sell Pedersoli rifles, is that what yours is? What have you found as far as overall case length or the throat? I reload so am wondering what I will be able to get away with. |

Gorgeous gun. Now go shoot the dog shit out of it and give us the report. Too good for a safe queen.

View Quote I don't reload so, I can't help you on the case length/throat. I shoot factory ammo. |

You should cut the barrel down, chop the stock off, and turn it into a mare's leg!
J/k. Gorgeous rifle. |
