...WTF.

So last Thursday my credit card was hit.

I called the CC company and told them it was fraud as I didn't order anything (as soon as I received the text from them).

Just about an hour ago it shows up on my doorstep. WTF!

From the outside of the box I can confirm what it is. (Adidas crap)

The CC company told me to call the vendor and go from there. I call them as I'm sending the stuff back. I don't want it.

So, WTF are thieves thinking? I'm setting here waiting for them to arrive.

They do that to confirm the card number is working. Generally though, they do a pay per view on satellite. But not uncommon to place orders as well.

By law, if someone sends you something that you didn't order, then you can keep it.  Years ago, there as a scam where people would just send you stuff and expect you to pay for it and this was how that was fixed.

They were tracking the package and hope to get it before you did.

The "smart" ones will redirect the package to the local UPS/Fedex store to pick up there.

If by chance that's what happened, then call the credit card company and tell them you made a mistake and forgot that you ordered it.  Then go and punish the teenager.

Slim chance they show up.

The usual scam these days is to simply gain access to someone's online store account (Amazon, Walmart, Overstock, etc.), order something with the card on file, then change the shipping address after the sale.

You probably caught them before they could change the shipping address.

I had this happen and got 6 packages of junk I didn’t order.

Edit: A buddy had three thousand in fraudulent charges and he ended up with a glock 17 complete slide and a complete 5.56 upper being shipped to him.

Does the order you received equal the total amount your card was compromised for?

A lot of times frauders were order things like electronic gift cards, but also include physical item shipped to the card holder's address to make it look legit.

I had the same shit happen to me but the thief ordered Raybans and they shipped to California. I called the vendor way in advance long before the glasses shipped and warned them not to ship. They shipped anyway and my CC was credited for the purchase. I almost wonder if the CC companies have some sort of racquet with this shit.

Hey, this gives me an idea.  I can see it now.  "Gosh, honey, look at this! Thieves got hold of the credit card and purchased these two rifles, those cases of ammo, and that Traeger and had it all sent to the house!  Welp, I guess there's nothing we can do about it now..."

The last time I had fraud on one of my cards, a box of stuff from Chewy.com showed up on my porch.  I have never ordered from them.  It was 3 egg incubators and clipping shears.  Came to over $300 with express shipping.  My card credited me immediately, but it actually took a little bit of work to get Chewy to send me a pre-paid label return the shit.

Huh?  Call the vendor?  You need a better CC company.  I see a fraudulent charge on my Discover or Citi cards and I just call them and tell them that they have a problem.  They say, "yes, we'll take care of that."  I've never had to call a vendor.

Is it some cheap knock off?

Some vendors send stuff to random people and then post a glowing review. It's usually cheap crap.

Some members here have experienced that.

My card was hit last weekend for over $2k, four different orders for GoPro max cameras. They showed up on Friday and I had to return them to get a refund from amazon.

If the box is big enough, get inside, armed to the teeth and have someone seal it back up.  When the bad guys come and take the box, saying "Yo mu'a fu'a, this be heavy n' sheeit" and put you in their SUV, you wait and burst out and say "Surprise, cockbags!" with weapons in hand.  Hilarity ensues as they shit themselves and jump out, and you move up, take the wheel and get a free vehicle to go offroading with and beat the shit out of.

Meh. It's not worth it. I have done this three times and the best car I got was a poorly maintained Chrysler 300. The worst part is you have to wait until they come to get you out of the trunk and it's late, and just the one guy and you are in a crappy neighborhood and you're hungry. A lot of waiting for not much hilarity.

Interesting, late last week I got a notice from my CC company saying there was a fraud alert for Adidas.com.  Called them up and they said the charge was attempted 4 times for $100 each time but was denied all 4 times.  No other fraud charges on my account.  Interesting that around the same time as you that I also almost got hit with Adidas charges.

You should of put it on a dead coyote, then hung it on a fence post.
