Looking for comparable models that are upright and fully faired. Considering honda cbr650, and looking for suggestions.
Must have full fairings and look like a street bike. No Yamaha MT series for example. Must be a four cylinder, no Yamaha R7 Ideal bike would be a 2024 FZ6R, if they still made them… I want a ninja 650 but with 4 cylinders Willing to consider BMW, Ducati, Aprilla, Triumph |

Definitely check out the Aprilia RS 660 and RS 457.
The Tuono is more upright, check those out too. |

Versys 1000
Concours 1400 GSX S-1000 GT Z900RS Cafe? you can always buy a sport bike and put a handle bar, lower pegs, higher bubble windshield, etc. Theres options. You may be looking for an adv bike with an inline 4 and more sport oriented to get the full upright and faired experience. Versys 1000 is the best at that niche. |

Ninja 650 is a L twin.
Why does it have to be an I4? You are more likely to find a more upright riding with a twin in that size class. Yamaha MT-07 and MT-09 (they took over from the FZ models). Suzuki SV650 (tons of upgrades available for these since they are very popular for club races). |

Most of the new fared bikes from Yamaha, Suzuki, and aprilia are parallel twins. The triumph Daytona 660 is a triple. |

The street triple 765’s sound is amazing, even with stock exhaust. If the 660 is 75% of that it’ll check that box. But it’s not petty. It’s the main thing I missed when I sold my triple for an 890 Duke. |

I think I’m going with a Tuono 660 factory. Just a matter of finding one.
How is reliability? Depreciation? Am I better off with cbr650? |

4 cyls are gross unless you need a race bike with high rpm power.
90 deg V-twin sounds much better and is much more torquey and better drivability in a street bike. Parallel twins sound terrible. 270 crank versions are a bit better but still not great. |
|
[#33]
Alot of parallel twins now feature a 270 firing order, they sound like a 90 degree v twin. No triples? They sound awesome. Triumph and Yamaha make some great ones.

Quoted: Replies like this don’t help lol. It’s also super reliable, cheap to service and more available. But less flair View Quote Tuono 660 will be more bike in about every way. It won’t have that inline 4 sound, but it’s going to be a lot punchier down low…you may or may not like that. The Honda iirc is a little bit cheaper, more reliable, cheaper to work on, and you’ll likely have a dealer a lot closer to you than the aprilia dealer. Inline 4 has the sound but you’re going to have to keep the RPMs up to get the most out of the motor. The Tuono is going to have a lot more punch down low. It’s going to be more comfortable, more tech, lighter, and all around will be a better every day bike than the cbr650r except for reliability….which is NOT what aprilia is known for. Then you’ve got to deal with the fact that it’s a P twin. I think you have better options than both…street triple R, 790 or 990 duke, MT-09 or XSR900, and that’s before you get into the used market. but that’s just my opinion… |

I ride high end sport bikes and have an R1M, GSXR1000, EBR1190RS Carbon and 3 other bikes in the garage…. My wife also has three and one of them is a 2018 Street Triple 765 RS.. if that bike had a little more legroom I wouldn’t want to ride anything else. Even with the relatively high pegs, it’s not so bad I can’t do 4-5 hours of twisty roads on it. I’m seriously considering buying one this year with the accessory heated grips and cruise control and in-dash nab system. These are reeeeeally good bikes-they are fast, handle well, are reliable, and they don’t destroy tires or drink gas. I can ride a bike fast enough to flex the frame on an R1M and I can go as fast as I want to on a street triple…. The midrange and high corner speed allows you to be shockingly fast down a back road but it is a fantastic street bike for just cruising around or riding to work. This bike is responsible for me not caring about sportbikes anymore-I’ll keep a few of the ones I have but I’m never buying another. |
