I still have a few HST 124 +P+. I don't think you can buy them anymore.

147gr HST (P9HST2). I’d love to have more Ranger T, but I haven’t seen it in years.

HSTs are pretty good
124gr gold dots also work well, for a 3" barrel |

Quoted: They were a good choice 15-20 years ago. They suck through barriers like glass. HST, Gold Dot, and Ranger are all about equal, pick your poison. On paper the Remington Golden Sabre isn't bad but I had two squibs with them, and until the bankruptcy settles out only a mongoloid would get them. Quoted: So why did Federal start selling a 150gr HST specifically for micro 9s? View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: I don’t recall where I read it as it was many years ago, but ballistic tests said barrels 3” or less and best was 124 +p HST. 3” or more and best was 147 HST (+p was not needed). All of my carry guns are short barreled, so I’ve always carried 124 +p HST. I have a small supply of 147 on hand, but have never really fired it. My opinion is the HST is hard to beat. So why did Federal start selling a 150gr HST specifically for micro 9s? No idea. This is not the article I read as the one I remember was over 5+ years ago. I do think this is basically the same premise is that you need the extra velocity of the +p to get reliable expansion out of the short barrel guns. When you view the video linked in the article, it specifically mentions your question about the 150grn. Honestly, I never knew it was an offering, but as you see, it just couldn’t get fast enough to expand and acted just like a FMJ. https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2018/01/15/can-one-federal-9mm-p-124gr-hst-short-barrel-gel-test-review/ |

I have thousands of rds of golddot and hst
There was a guy that sold golddot cheap on EE before the ammo shortage. But I guess I have 15k of both. Besides my other 9mm. |
|
HST, Gold Dot, Ranger
I'll buy whichever of these I can find for the best deal when I'm looking for ammo. I do admit I am pretty partial to the 124 grain +P Gold Dot in 9mm. |

Easy way to tell which ones pass muster or not before you buy any ammo. If the box is remington branded, whatever is inside, sucks. I'll take wolf over remington. |

Ball ammo. Pick one.
Been killing folks for decades. It works. |

I've had very good function and accuracy with 124 gr. Hornandy Critical Defense, can't comment on the lethality.

i'm stocked up on HSTs and Ranger Ts in 147gr. Have some Golden Sabre in 147, too - got them on some special deal a few years back where they were on sale at target ammo price.

Quoted: Not a HP but this beats ANY round out there in every way. Prove me wrong. Prior to this, HST was my go to https://u.cubeupload.com/crsmoker250/43E12AA4F1C9461293C5.png View Quote No street cred. |

Underwood Xtreme Defender is the best of the best. Federal HST and then the rest below it.
Technically not a HP, its a solid copper projectile shaped like a philips screwdriver bit. |
|
The current best is Gold Dot G2, 147 or Critical Duty 135 with Hornady being superior as the Speer had issues in some non Glocks with reliability.

I bought a case of the 147 gr +P Rangers from sgammo when they were still available. No idea on “lethality” but I’m sure they’ll work fine.

Quoted: In court. Worst fucking name for a round. View Quote Somehow we had a guy walk on a Must have had connections somewhere. I heard our master guns scream when he found out about it "___ did WHAT!?!" We never could figure out how a corporal walked on a shooting, ccw w/o license, etc. Iirc the 45/45 was just for intox w/ gun or maybe that and the ccw. Dude later crashed his ultralight, which we never did figure how he could afford. Managed to EAS before they got him for abusing his narcotics. Apparently the RIP round he fired performed exactly as advertised, shredded the shoulder of the POS. I remember some idiot online had a ND with one, think it was glock-leg. Also worked exactly as advertised. It got posted with pics on some gun pages. |
