My buddy in Seattle was on Brownell's site, searching through local FFLs, and this came up. Seems really weird to me. Was anyone here aware of this?

Bet it’s so they can outfit private security for their leadership.

Guns for me but not for thee, the liberal way.
These corporations will shit on the Bill of Rights and then use their influence and power to buy back the privileges for themselves. |

I bet apple has one too. I’ve read that their goons don’t fuck around.

Quoted: Not sure about Seattle but some of the sites have to be SOT due to the products (DD's and such). I was surprised to see them pop up on the ATF site until I thought about it for a minute. I thought an FFL had to be in the business of selling firearms?

Their Redmond campus security isn't anything special and doesn't appear to be armed. Could be they have hidden tac teams but I doubt it. They own Redmond so redmond pd is always on speed dial.

Quoted: Yup. ETA: I wonder if they are an 07/SOT so their staff can have post sample toys? View Quote I still wouldn't 1 - move to that state 2 - work with non-open source software 3 - work for microsoft (strangely, #2 and #3 are no longer the same thing... MS was one of the biggest linux kernel contributers a few years ago) |

I think now it’s under Vulcan something. Paul Allen had it, but was transferred to his other business ventures. I know it was for his Flying Heritage museum, so they could handle the hardware for the planes at first, now planes and tanks. It’s actually a 07/02.

Quoted: I thought an FFL had to be in the business of selling firearms? View Quote You must be involved in the business. That does not necessarily mean retail sales to customers. It's far easier from a legal liability standpoint for a large corporate security office to hold an FFL than to deal with the responsibility of one person going and buying Glocks at an FFL. Their business is providing armed security to the rest of the organization, which they would otherwise contract out blah blah blah and it becomes an overhead charge instead of direct billable. The prohibition is holding a non-03 FFL for personal collecting, there must be a business nexus. Kharn |

GM is now making thousands of Baja racers for the Army, and it has mounted machine guns, so they had to test them somehow. Kharn |

They have to buy new ones every 18 months because they become unusable after that time.
