Solicitor Ms Khan told the Sun Online: "Before the machete is being used is there a very serious use of force by the officer.

"You cannot pull out dreadlocks and their hair.

"Then what follows with the police officer is an overreaction to something that's quite minor.

"Muhammad Rodwan is trying to defend himself, he obviously goes too far and a Taser is used.

On Thursday a jury at the Old Bailey found Rodwan guilty of wounding with intent, but cleared him of the more serious charge of attempted murder and also of possession of an offensive weapon. He was jailed for 16 years.

It later emerged Rodwan had served time for an earlier machete attack.

Rodwan was jailed for nine years in 1996 for attacking two men with a machete in the bedroom of his east London flat.

Both victims needed surgery following the attack in 1996, with one having almost had his hand chopped off.

He had convictions stretching back to when he was 18 and was jailed for three years after being convicted of rape in 1983.

PS:  The Sun posted the pictures of the officer.

And?

Its not necessarily illegal to carry a machete.

Assaulting someone with a machete is illegal, unless it is in self defence.

This wasn't self defence.

They could not determine beyond reasonable doubt that he had premeditation to murder in the attack.

They could however prove that he wounded the officers with intent to cause GBH, which is the next level of seriousness down from attempted murder.

He was convicted of wounding with intent to cause GBH and and sentenced to 16 years.

Nobody gives a shit what his lawyer says in some tabloid, as her attempt bring self defence into it was rejected by the jury.

Are we still dealing with that monarchy?

I thought we were distancing ourselves like we're doing with Germany.

That country needs to get their ass kicked again.

Question is... who wants to do it?

Your thread title sucks and throws shade on GD’s famous 5 Minutes Of Hate - England Edition.

What conditions would have to be met for it to be against the law?  We've all heard that GB has VERY strict knife laws.

In his case?  I seem to recall him being a handyman of some sort.  Doing odd jobs, gardening etc.  Machete is just a tool of the trade for that kind of thing.

It happened before. Pictures of a wounded Brit police officer were posted here on arfcom (might have been this one, don't recall the exact incident) and mods nuked the thread, I believe in response to a request from the Brits.

That's what I recall happening, but if I have the details wrong someone please correct me.

Lol, maybe in the Amazon.

Once a machete attacker, always a machete attacker.

And every time Agent_Funky posts, I’m reminded of how appreciative I am for the War of Independence.
