The hedgefunds have shorted 63 ETFs trying to drive the stock into the ground. How I understand it, if you short a stock and they go bankrupt, you don’t have to pay capital gains because you technically didn’t close your position. Looks like the reddit guys need to do the same thing to the 63 other funds and ride this shit to the ground. Can’t short squeeze an ETF. |

View Quote They still need to deliver the GME stocks......the HF’s just borrowed them from the ETF This thing is gonna blow. If AMC closes above $8 on Friday there’s 12million so shares that are “In The Money” and have be delivered. This ride is FAR from over. |

Part of me thinks this a trap to get you to sell at $300. Part of me thinking they are saying fuck it, let it all burn down and get bailed out.

Mess with the uniparty or its friends, I expect a very swift and harsh response compared to what was done to kr. |

Compliments my #FreeGME t-shirt well I'm going to go to Office Depot and get some of that gold fringed paper, like we used to get for little league championships. I'm gonna print out my GME faux stock certificate and hang it on my fucking wall in a nice wooden frame. Hmm, I wonder if there's a way to actually get a stock certificate these days.... |

I think anyone with $50 or more who wants to buy a lotto ticket should buy AMC and hold.
This thing could blow like never seen before. $1000/share is possible. |

I understood the mechanics of the past short squeeze pretty well and it ended pretty much just as I expected.
What the hell is going on with GME now? This is different and doesn't make any sense in the absence of additional details I may be unaware of. |

View Quote A lot of people shorted GME back then thinking there is no way it could maintain it's share price and it would fall back to $5 per share. This might just be a second round of shorts coming due. |

It's a game of poker, with a few billion on the line. A ton of small players went all in, calling the bluff of both the hedge funds, and the US Gov.
If the small players fold, they lose what they've put in. If the hedgefunds fold, they pay what it take the small players to get the cards back into the deck Neither side is willing to fold and walk away from the table. So now it's a waiting game. Will the hedge funds weasel their way out of the shorts? Will the small players take their profits and scoot? Will the gov allow the hedge funds to cheat? One way or the other, it's a fun ride. |
