My surface grinder does a fantastic job of squaring up my wood working chisels. Every time I buy an antique wood chisel I set it square at 25° on my surface grinder. Then I hand work the edge to my liking.

I just bought this one today for $14 at the flea market. Made around 1850 in Sheffield England. Pretty sweet!

I have a few large chisels and plane blades with forge welded steel edges that were somewhat difficult to square up. I would have loved to have been able to grind them like this.
