I was flying from Monroe, La back to Denver, Co yesterday, and packed my microtech in my checked baggage. It's now missing. Has anyone else had TSA help themselves to your belongings, knives in particular? Flying out of that airport is always the biggest shit show.:(

In Monroe? I'm surprised your luggage made it through at all.

Actually, one year ago we left Durango, Co to fly into Lafayette, La and discovered TSA in Durango apparently needed my pocket knife and my wifes hairbrush out of our checked bags more than we needed them. Motherfuckers

I've had a pocketknife stolen once, and a small box of ammunition stolen another time.

I had a lint roller swiped from mine.

Didn’t dare to put my spyderco in there.

ANYTHING IS SUBJECT TO BEING STOLEN IN NEW ORLEANS.

Don’t take anything to NOLA you want to keep.

the ammunition makes sense

not suppose to fly with loose ammo.  it needs to be in a locked case with your gun.

Also I put my knives in my locked case with my checked gun.

Get a lockable case (non tsa locks) and a cheap flare gun. Declare it as a firearm when you check it.

That is a trick used by photographers and videographers to make sure their expensive camera shit actually makes it.

Because they cannot open it without you and if they do bust the lock it has to be resecured by you or else it cannot fly.

If they want in, they'll page or call you.

That's not true unless required by the carrier.

After losing a leatherman,  I made a short steel cable with two loops.  It goes through the knife frame and gets padlocked to the luggage frame.

Sure, they have the tools to cut it but I want it to be as hard as possible.
