I will not apologize for starting two GD gun threads in one day.

These things are fucking awesome.

Damn I need more money. Although since they're 2005 I guess Hughes ruined my chances for ever shooting one.

Belt-fed grenade launchers.  Imagine how awesome those would have been during WW2.

What does this do that the Mark 19 and the AGS 17 doesn't?

From my cursory understanding, programmable detonation and much better targeting system.

Thanks, I did not know that about the programmable detonation.  I heard about some anti tank missiles doing that but not grenade launchers.  Damn I feel old and out of date not keeping up with those types of changes in ground warfare technology.

The MK47 is like 15 years old and has been pretty much beat out by the CROWS MK19.

In addition to the other points above, it weights about half as much. 18kg vs 35kg according to the wiki. That's a massive improvement on its own.

Does this mean we can buy de-milled MK19 parts kits for a semi auto build?

Reduced weight on any crew served weapon certainly is an advantage.  I never saw things like the M2 & MK19 as anything other than fixed emplacement or vehicle mounted weapon systems.

Your exposure to just about every US field weapon is ridiculous.

From SAWS to M2s, from grenade launchers, to javelins.

I bet you've probably seen/used a minigun too
