Honestly anytime I saw a barrel of ammo like that for sale it was actually always slightly at a higher CPR cost than equivalent 1,000 round cases were going for at the same time.
I would expect to get a price break on 12,500 rounds but it was always more expensive than buying 12 1/2 cases. Plus dealing with the logistics of moving it and storing it. I would love to have a barrel of it if I got 5 cents off of the case price, but not going to mess with it for anything less or especially pay a premium for it! |

I looked into buying a barrel of 5.56 when prices were at their lowest a couple years ago. Strangely, no matter how I tried to make the deal work, it came out cheaper to buy 1,000 round loose cases. It was the freight shipping charges that kept killing the bulk savings.
