Not really retro, but I like A1 furniture because the handguards are more comfortable and the A1 stock doesn't have that poky buttplate on the A2.

Picked up an A1 when Brownells was doing a sale a month or two back. They’re beyond cool. I guess it joins my A2 as another ‘vintage’ rifle, which sucks, since an A2 was my issue at boot camp. I guess I’m getting old

I literally want to kick myself in the head for not buying the $325 surplus M16A1 uppers that were available not too long ago.
They may be gone forever now.  The Brownells stuff is very cool though.

I LOVE the retro stuff! This is the only one I own thou, Colt 6520, it's the gun I dreamed of owning when I was kid :) I wish N1 stocks weren't so stupid expensive.

My GM Hydra build. EVERY part is GM except the rear half of the lower receiver. 
My 602. Original 602 Upper with VP 12 barrel and cast FSB, C stock, Edgewater, etc, etc,

I assembled this from parts I bought all over. I was trying to get as close to a Colt 654 as I could without getting crazy about it. When all else fails, call it a GAU-5 clone, right?
