Fluffy the cat’s sinister plan is to own all M1’s.

I wouldn't have expected the ordnance wheel along with the DAS on the top rifle. I am not an expert though. Have those stocks been refinished/ new production? If not, that Winchester stock is worth some money IIRC. Nice rifles.

Second rifle with pre-war no trapdoor buttplate and impeccable cartouche is questionable.

My 1998 DCM rifle doesn’t look that good. However, it is a Springfield Armory April 1943, the month and year my dad was drafted.

Very nice. I've got a '42 Springfield, but with a new Criterion barrel, and newer stock. Don't care, get ping. Maybe if I ever care enough, I might look for surplus stuff.

Quoted: Beautiful rifle! Does CMP not have them anymore? View Quote I think all they have for mail order now are refurbished guns with new stocks and barrels (Expert Grade). Those will be good shooters, but not great from a historical perspective. The stores are going to be your best bet if you're looking for something like a WWII gun. |

I have a decent amount of '06 brass and bullets, as well as a good selection of powders to use...WC844, Ramshot TAC, IMR4064, and 4895. I'll probably try and stick with TAC and 4064, as that is what I have the most of right now.

Quoted: Once again, I know very little/nothing about these rifles..what all parts are "fake"? View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: yep those are fake parts...but serviceable. The barrels were "made" in the 50's... they could have been put on last year. Once again, I know very little/nothing about these rifles..what all parts are "fake"? The cartouches on the stocks weren't right. The stocks could be new production, or sanded originals that were remarked by somebody. When you see one thing that doesn't look right, it leads one to question other things like are the lock bar sights on the Winchester original, are the receivers rewelds or recovered drill rifles. etc. Again, I am not an expert. You need that M1G guy in here. @M1G |

Some of the wood handguards look new. Hopefully the barrels are new and should be good shooters. They aren't welded receivers so thats a plus. |

I got a 308 special a few weeks ago because I've always wanted one. After shooting it I was kinda, meh.
I just re-read the description and realized i was supposed to get a web sling and didn't. |

Quoted: ?? View Quote Under the buttplate. There are probably two holes for a cleaning kit and oiler. I agree with some of the other fellas too. The stock cartouches look humped. Someone put those two rifles together. They look nice but are nowhere near original. As long as you're happy, that's all that matters. Just don't try to pass them along as original. How much? |
