Some manner of slug. Would have turned the flesh wound he gave Chigur into a broken femur. He would not have been much trouble after that.

ETA: I would have kept the pistola and SP89 (impossible gun in the movie time line) as well.

While I'm certain that you are speaking from a tremendous amount of "personal" experience, I've shot hundreds of them mostly through my KSG and haven't had any trouble. I'll take the extra capacity of having 35 of these little bastards and you can do as you please.

They only work in certain action types without a feed device. Won’t work in 870s, won’t work in Mossbergs without a mini clip. Will work in Winchester 1200/1300 but with some issues....
