Oh the irony.
The IEEE Robert N. Noyce Medal was established in 1999, in honor of Robert N. Noyce, founder of Intel Corporation. Noyce was renowned for his 1959 invention of the integrated circuit.
Intel remains the sponsor of the medal.

heh.

She did an amazing job with AMD.  She not only turned that company around, but they started throwing haymakers at intel.  Ryzen is a great platform.

Good for her.  Bob would be pleased I think.

With how well AMD is doing she should get a medal. Earned it way more than half the token trophies we pass out to anyone.

She took an also-ran chip company to a 508% return over three years, and now has both price AND performance edge over Intel. One of of the best tech CEO's out there.

She was the best thing to ever happen to AMD. They we probably headed for bankruptcy without her.

Back when the first Athlon64 came out and just smoked the P4 I was a big user of their chips.  Then they kind of stagnated and the Core chips started hammering them big time for years.  Though my laptop has an i7 I'm loving what they are doing with the Ryzen, kicking Intel in the ass.   Hopefully it drives more innovation from both companies.

Yup. If any parents are looking out over the vast wasteland of pop-culture and wondering where all the good
role models are for their daughters ... well here's one.

Years ago, I remember Intel bragged their newest   processor was an "AMD killer."
