My 97 Cobra. Have had it almost 20 years. Both kids came home from the hospital in it. Drag raced, street raced, road raced, and autocrossed. Lots of miles on it but the engine keeps on going. Went 11.6@ 116 in the 1/4 on big and littles and a different suspension setup. Lots of fun for a car I bought sight unseen when I was 19! Attached File |

I still have yet to drive one, and have only seen a few on the road. I wanted “Keyz to a 300Z” as well back in high school. Then wanted a 350Z too, but closest I got was an FX35 for the wife cause kids lol. I always wanted a Supra - a new one is still on the list as a possible fun DD once the last kid starts driving. |

Its my 13th car. 11 have been stick. One auto was a Buick Cutlass; Bought it to flip it, so it really doesn't count. Other automatic was a Dodge Intrepid that I had for 100k. The suspension is sports car; But I'm not a fan of the rebound. I feel like I get some chatter on a turn if I hit a bump. Like I bounce/skip like a stone on a turn. Grew up in Ohio, driving the F-150 in snow, so I know how to snow-drift. It all came back to me on a wet cloverleaf. A K1 performance LSD is in the cards. She is the Sport model. So no LSD, smaller brakes, no BLose sound system. No heated seats. The Performance model is 10k more, and the stealerships all wanted 5-7500 over MSRP for the performance. Honestly, I prefer her without the spoiler. Wish someone would make rear window louvers.... This one was 2200 under MSRP. (About 42k, plus T&T). There are a few others in the area (Sport, MT) that are below MSRP. I'm not a fan of grey, so black it was. I kept eyeing the Supra, but I sat in this one at the auto show, and the bolsters and styling stuck with me. I've gotten quite an education on car care. Had the last car for 14 years, 134k miles (Mazda 3.) After a day of questions like, "What carnuba wax????" I got on YT University. Routine for washing is: - Foam cannon. Let foam sit for 5 mins. - Rinse car. - Wash wheels while foam dwells. - Refoam car. - 2 bucket method with a microfiber glove. - DI ion exchanger on the hose to rinse. - Leaf blower to dry. - Dry completely with microfiber towel. - Air blow out cracks. - Detail spray To polish it, she only had 60 miles on her, I was itching to drive her, so I was in too much of a hurry. - Clay bar - Meguiars Ceramic hybrid wax. Found a 3"x4" swirl when I was done. Pretty sure some open mouth breather rubbed the dry paint on a gritty spot. This fall, I'll chemical decon, clay MITT, polish to remove swirl, polish just to polish, THEN graphene ceramic. Funny story; I name all my cars. Some take awhile to think up a name. Usually, the car "tells" me its name and gender. The Mazda 3 was always "The Blue Car". So my daughter says, "I want to name the Z." I explain the car usually earns their name, and if you make the payments, you get to name it. She says, "THE BLACK WIDOW". Ain't gonna lie; It might stick. Hope this bodes well for people in 10 years wanting to buy it from me. |

I wanted to cross-shop it with the Supra, but it seems like Nissan has been terrible at getting them to the dealers. |
