Just my opinion. The 800 on Amazon prime. Mostly Chinese propaganda but the breaking the jap metal shields hits hard. The Outpost. I don't care if this isnt a masterpiece. It felt so real the interactions between soldiers. The Pacific. It's quality suffers against BoB for many reasons (almost every company had a 400% casualty rate, based on books on men who wrote it real time rather than a professional historian, etc) but it is very honest. Generation Kill. The shit talking, the bantering, the idiotic orders from higher ups. This series is the most realistic, un artsy series of modern war. Warfare, I actually cried during the taking care of casualties scene because the actor did such a great job, it brought me back. |

1973 - Death Race North Africa WW2 movie where a damaged P-40 is chased by a German Tank.... I don't remember much more than that, except that I always liked P-40s since.

1944 (2015) was exceptional. Follows Estonians as some fight the Russians, some fight the Germans, and some fight for whoever is in charge at the time. Unknown Soldier (2017) is based on the Finns fighting the Soviets. Some really great action. Hell is for Heroes (1962) is great. Has Steve McQueen. One interesting detail is that as there is a brief pause in the fighting he grabs a K98 laying on the ground from a dispatched German, pulls the bolt out and throws it without making any particular grand show of it. Just as he’s securing his area he does it without thought. I thought it was a very interesting detail that he chose to disable an enemy weapon as he prepared to counter the next assault. My Way (2011). Koreans who end up fighting for the Germans in Normandy. Taegukgi: The Brotherhood of War (2004) Two brothers who fight in the Korean War… can’t give much detail without giving it away. |

The One that Got Away with Hardy Kruger Based the true story of Luftwaffe fighter pilot Franz von Werra who was shot down over Britain in 1940. He initially tried to escape while captive in England, but was later successful during transfer to a Canadian POW camp.[3] Von Werra was the only Axis POW to succeed in escaping and make it home during the war
