Did he say he put Polish in there or something.  Italian sausage is great in lasagna.  The bacon I'm not so sure.

It's super good. It's also super expensive to make, and because I make the red sauce from scratch, it's super time consuming. So I don't make it that often. It'll also turn ya into a fat fuck in short order.

But it's sooooooo good. I make it maybe twice a year. It's kind of a special occasion for my kids, just like it was when I was growing up. That's always been the idea.

Lasagna is good old fashioned comfort food - not fine dining. If it photographs too well, you might have done it wrong.

I'm sure it tasted great.

I feel like this could be the beans/no beans argument of lasagna. My wife grew up with her parents using cottage cheese (dey was po'!), and she feels like mine is too high faulutin'.

My parents were poor as shit until my later teen years, but they never stooped to using cottage cheese in the lasagna. If Dad couldn't afford to do it right (which was most of the time, hence the special occasion status it earned growing up), he didn't make it.

My wife and I still fight about it. There are some foods that are always "best" the way Mom & Dad made it, even if Mom & Dad can't fucking cook. And by Mom & Dad, I mean her parents and not mine.

Skyline is fucking awesome.

I'll grant that's it's not chili, in the same way I'll grant that Taco Bell isn't Mexican food. Skyline is it's own category. Taco Bell is it's own category.

That lasagna may not look like something Gordan Ramsay would make but it probably tastes 1000 times better.
