I thought the King owned all the land from Cornwall to John-o-groats?

Seems unlikely
The ruling regime of los estados unidos would come up with something like nationwide rent control zones, mixed with expanded section 8 provisions, throw in some coupons and kickbacks, something about X00% of the federal poverty line, etc. Hire a shitload more at HUD and of course, areas that the cool kids get to live in that don't have all that riff raff and hoi polloi Your fear dial should be turned less towards Stalin, and more towards Biden sniffing your hair, endlessly |

Doubtful.
Why would they need to anyway when they can make it illegal to collect but leave you with the responsibility of owning it ? |

They don't want to seize it, then they'd have to manage it.
They don't wan to give it to the tenants, they know it will turn to shit in no time. What they want to do is tell landlords who they have to rent to and what they can charge. They don't want to "do" that's actual work, they want to "tell" it take little effort to tell someone else what to do. |

Aren't there a lot of rent/eviction moratoriums due to COVID in various states right now?
My understanding is that various state and local governments have ruled that renters can't be evicted for non-payment of rent until sometime in the future. Isn't this effectively about the same thing? Is anyone here being affected by it? |

Also they would lose out on being able to charge property tax on the land if it becomes owned by the state. They will just sell it to a favorable corporation or set of international investors for almost nothing. You haven’t noticed the shift to corporate housing and rental managements the last 10 years? Whomever doesn’t comply gets eminent domained or code liens into property loss. All nice and legal like. Mayor Pete did that all over his little burg in Indiana. What doesn’t get corporatized is going to get ghetto-ized with section 8 installations. |

There won't be any property seized by the government. They'll tax the working man and give it to the freeloaders so they can pay the rent.

Quoted: Government can't do that. Against the law. View Quote Absolutely correct. They will be as legally correct as they were with GM's BK. They won't though, they don't want to handle the mess or liability, they will just 'tweak'' laws to force property owners who rent to keep renting to tenants that don't pay or trash the place and keep the losses on the property owners. Much cheaper to do it that way. |

Probably won’t have too by flooding the market with cheap houses as landlords go under or want out because of tenant favoring eviction/ease termination laws.
Then they will incentivize big dem money to buy up rural land for multi housing development in red counties. Put up section 8, rural development and tax credit complexes in unincorporated areas near small towns to skew demographics. |
