Trijicon Ascent is 1-4x, built like a tank and right at your budget. Gorgeous glass.
Do not cheap out on the rings or mount. |

After looking through both the Sig msr 1-6 and strike eagle, I went with the 1-6 strike eagle. The vortex reticle is far better for a little more money.

FWIW: Amazon (I know, I know) has the Burris RT6 on sale for $310.
I gave 320 for mine, on sale a couple months ago. Haven't mounted it yet, but the clarity is considerably better than my Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6. I'm not sure it's quite up to the Steiner 1-4 but you'd have to try them side by side to see the difference. I'm seriously considering getting another at 310. They usually run 360. Not a huge savings but 50 bucks is 50 bucks. |

Vortex pst Gen 2 1-6. Through vortex leo/mil it should fit the price requirements

SIG 1-6x MSR is great for the money around 300bux. PA 1-6x in FFP or SFP would fit great too on a Ranch rifle. I love the PA ACSS reticle. None a true daylight red dot bright but not really needed.

Eurooptic is legit in case anyone is asking. I've ordered from them a few times.

Quoted: I think you guys have sold me on the Burris View Quote It was a decent deal for 360. Pretty good glass(I'd say better than any others I've seen in that price range) mechanics, nice reticle layout. For 280, it's a no brainer. If you decide to upgrade later, it's still a solid scope for your backup gun. My strike eagle will probably go to one of my scouts so they can use what money they have for more ammo. Eta: The SWFA SS scopes may give it a run for the money in glass clarity and mechanics but it's been a long time since I had one and I'm not sure they offer a lpvo?? |

It looks like you made up you mind but for your rifle I'd look for a 1-3x weaver or 1.5-5, 2-7, or 3-9 compact Leupold.

Those mounts are heavy as shit 17 oz, that is the downside of many LPVO and why I have Leupold. They are heavy. That's a fact. I'm not sure if that translates to durability and ruggedness or not. I hope so. I'd like to try one of the smaller ACOGs in person to see if they would do what I want. I'm not spending a k dollars just to throw one more optic in my drawer. Went through the hype of the trijicon reflex sight....twice because they brought out the "new and improved reflex 2". They both sucked. I have a couple aimpoint PRO. "But they're big and heavy". Yes and I've had them for years, beat the hell out of them, replaced batteries rarely, seen what they do in 0f temps. If an extra 8 ounces is the difference ????? I've lost way more weight than that by taking a good dump. |

Perhaps you’ve answered already… but why a 1X LPVO on a bolt gun?
To me, the purpose of an optic that displays 1X is clear: speed of engagement. And good 1X performance often comes with a few trade offs; cost, and ideal reticle compromises. So when someone gets a 1X LPVO, the trade offs are made to emphasize an optic ideally suited to a something like semiauto that can transition targets and engage each quickly. I mean 1.5x and 2x can also be used very quickly for engagements. The TA44 and PA GLx 2X are fantastic optics for shooting quickly and giving a bit more edge and clarity on midrange shots than a red dot. I had a TA44 on an AR for quite a while and it was much nicer to shoot with at all distances than a AP micro. Why saddle yourself with an LPVOs compromises on a gun that frankly can’t fully leverage the benefits of 1X? I would think a 1.5X or 2X bottom-end MPVO could be much better money spent on a bolt action. |
