I haven't seen it in a couple of years, but watched clips of it - the scenes, especially the battles are epic.

Yes I know the little trolls are annoying, especially the gay ones

Better repeated watchings. LTOR is good for an epic story but for a movie trilogy it's too much work. Need to turn the brain (mostly) off.

Not my cup of tea.
I have the whole LOTR set of Special Extended DVD Edition dvd's, I could only make it have way through the second one before I put them up as not interested - I never have seen the whole thing.

They tried to put too much extra info into those movies. Probably was the only way those events would ever seen the big screen.

LOTR is absolutely the best ever.  Teo Towers may have benefited the most from the extended version.  I’m going to be laid up for awhile from a surgery and I’m definitely going to do the Hobbit and LOTR extended ones over the course of a few days.

I hope Amazon’s second age LOTR series turns out great.  They’re supposed to be spending a ton of $ on it.

There are some decent fan edits -- the Bilbo Edit and Tolkien Edit were both pretty good.

X87.

Bernard Hill, the actor who played Theoden, puts Shakespearean professionals to shame with his performance in LOTR.

His Charge of the Rohirrim speech here, and to a much lesser extent, at the end of the Battle of Helm's Deep absolutely give me goosebumps, every time.

Damn, and then coupled with the music during the Battle of the Pelennor Fields is movie perfection.

The GF2 and it's prequel, GF1, are in my top six films. That third installment is not, so I don't count it as a trilogy.

The LOTR was a a fine trilogy. They also sit in my top 6.

It's certainly one of my favorites. The Hobbit Trilogy on the other hand is pretty much the only Trilogy I started that I didn't finish. Almost walked out of the theater for the second movie.
