Taste like shit.
There I said it |

As a side note, they are being sued by someone from NY that stated that the rolls are not made in Hawaii, so therefore it's false advertising.

Seems like every time I look at them they are on the shelf and they had them in the freezer 1 hour before I looked at them. ?

They don't really roll that well either The original bakery in Honolulu was great. One of the few places that was open 24 hours in that part of the town. Plus, they made the bakery products there too. Early 90's they sold the location and move the production to Torrance, CA. Everyone in Hawaii knew about the move for decades. Just another dumb frivolous lawsuit. |

.... and they are being sued in a class action because their rolls aren't made in Hawaii...

Since I don't know what shit tastes like, I'll have to take OP's word for it.

I can't find good burger buns. I tried making them twice and failed.
Hawaiian roll sliders are the best I can do at this point and agree they are not great. |

There was a Portuguese bakery near where I grew up.
We'd get the large round loafs of sweetbread once in a while. So good. |

It's a light, sweet roll. What exactly did you want from it that it failed to deliver?

Make your own.
Use a standard white bread recipe, but swap the sugar for brown sugar or honey, and swap half the milk for crushed pineapple or juice. If you still think that Hawaiian bread, fresh Hawaiian bread tastes like shit, you just don't like sweet breads. |

I like to use them with chicken salad or pimento cheese. Sometimes I'll use them to make burger sliders.

In the future I will have to watch to see what else the OP gets wrong.

Are you sure you tried King's Hawaiian Rolls and not just "Hawaiian Rolls?"
There's a lot of imitations out there that aren't nearly as good. |

They are a sponsor of the Boston Marathon and hand out those packages of four at the finish line. At that moment they are the greatest tasting bread you will ever eat in your life.
