What's the difference other than the person wearing it?

I like this one. Would definitely piss off the leftists:

I still have my one that I received from a Kurd in '91 while in Iraq. Interesting question, OP

They are the same, it's just a terminology difference. I speak Aramaic which predates Arabic, we call a handkerchief style napkin a kefiyah. I wouldn't trust wikipedia articles about the origination of certain things. Kurds and arabs actively try to erase Christian ancestry/language/culture from middle eastern culture.  The differences between the headdresses mainly comes from the group wearing them, certain colors and styles mean certain things, also how they wear them (terrorist notably cover their face). They most like originated from Bedouin tribes though pre dating islam. Assyrians for example mainly wear them now if they are farmers or certain holidays like new years.

One of those French chef helmet cover things would be cool, if I had a helmet.

I wear Shemaghs around the house when my head is cold but I don't feel like putting on a hoodie. It looks absolutely retarded, but man is it convenient.

It's like what is the difference between a cap, a hat, and a sombrero. People will have string ideas and opinions based on whatever cultural background they have, but it won't be consistent.

Add some mythologizing, scapegoating, and so on? All bets are off, and derp is sure to follow.

For many years I'd wear a green shemagh on my neck and shoulders when hiking to keep the sun off my neck and to give a bit of extra padding under my pack's shoulder straps. These days I have a fancy boonie hat from a member here that has an integrated sunshade net to cover the back of my neck, but I still keep a shemagh in my pack in case I need it for something. They are cheap and work great to protect against the sun.

They're the same. Like my family is Yiddish. We call it a Kippah not Yarmulke but it's the same thing pretty much.

I have one that I bought from another site several years ago. It's a little small to wear in full terrorist mode, but big enough to wear bandito style.

The Hebrew reads, "Am Yisrael Chai," or "The People of Israel Live."

I just realized I'm wearing a Columbia t-shirt. How ironic. (Not Columbia U, however.)

The irony was immediate.
A Kosher garment would burn like Holy Water on a vampire
