Well over 10k?  260k miles and really nothing wrong with it.

I see these starting at 10k online.  I’m pretty sure I’m getting a new 1/2 T sometime  soon.

What do you guys think I should price this at?  2006 duramax, 260k, fair to good condition.

I guess it’s pretty obvious I don’t baby my truck, better call it “Fair” condition.

@twisted10 might know, but I don't know if he can count higher than 6.

4wd?  Any other specs?  If 4wd is say maybe 8-10 in fair condition.

Yeah 4wd. KBB puts it at an avg of 13k if thats worth anything, with me selling it.  They say trade value is 10k.  I guess it is worth more than I thought, I think these were some of the last diesels without all the smog control stuff.

Your truck is one of the more desirable GM trucks. Between one of the more trouble free Duramax’s and the real Allison being a 6 speed. Is the frame/undercarriage rusted up at all?

Used trucks bring some real good money, if not rusted you might get $14K for it.

ETA: I would say your truck is in good condition, it doesn’t look beat up at all.

FWIW, I sold my old body style ‘07 1500 in June for $12k cash...

New trucks are expensive and people want used trucks, especially diesels!

A friend of mine recently sold his 04 3/4 ton 6.0 crew with just over 300,000 miles for $7,000.

Used trucks are fucking nuts right now.

Easily and then some in northern ohio. All those are rusted to shit now that are here.

Thanks guys.  This truck has been really good to me, I’m probably too attached to it but it’s time to get something newer.   No rust anywhere, just some honest wear and tear.   I just don’t want a breakdown in some of the remote places I get into.

Did a KBB trade in value thing, came out at 8k$.   I’ll be selling it outright for max value.

I’m shopping for a 1 ton truck in MI about the same year and setup. Seems most are in the 15-20 range with rust, dents and questionable mods. This is nuts. I can buy a much newer truck in better condition, less rust but equal miles and be further ahead. Shopped down south and the prices are higher on average with trucks having 300k miles

LBZ Duramax is generally the most desirable of all the models. It may fetch more, more than its "worth"
Link Posted: 1/17/2021 12:31:30 PM EDT
[#14]
15-20K here, they are bringing in more money due to the lack of emission hardware and are easier to "play" with.

Yep, 2006-2007 LBZ Duramax trucks are the most desirable for sure.

10K sounds a little high, but not by much. Maybe if it's in really, really good shape.

It’s not in really great shape externally.  Paint chips and a few little dings.  No way I’ll get what some of these guys think, but I should get close to 10k.  It’s a solid truck, but stuff is bound to start breaking down soon.

Sometimes I think I should keep it and deal with the stuff that breaks, but I get pretty far off the main road a lot.   Been a great ride.   A couple glow plugs, brakes, one front end rebuild and batteries are all I’ve had to fix/replace since 06.

Really, I made some good money off this thing in the oilfield.   Got paid 21/hr, just for the truck , for 4 years as an electrician.

How much less do people like the next duramax?  Ive got an 08 ltz with 85000 miles but started looking to get the same truck, similar miles but a crew cab instead of a ext cab.

The price on Crewcab trucks in the same body style but a year or three newer and 100k miles is astounding.  Like, theyre 30-40k.  I cant believe that.  Looks like ext cab for me.

You know I have considered that.  But it’s time to let it go.   I don’t tow much more than my SxS or a small camper.

Selling that truck i would start at 18k and take 15k.
Used truck prices are nuts and LBZ dmaxes are top of the nuts pile. You would be surprised what those actually sell for.
For comparison,cleanish 01-04 LB7 trucks with 200k will bring 10-12k easy.

That truck would bring $15k-16k here as fast as you could list it.

Those saying it’s only worth $10k are forgetting that a new one is $65k and a ten year old one is still $25k. Trucks are high.

If I could I'd trade my duramax for a gasser and pocket the money but I need the tow rating and I'm not paying what they want for a new gasser that would have the needed tow rating

Private party my 2013 3500hd duramax 4wd drw 144k is worth 25k, 22k trade in..

Which is nice because I only owe 12k on it. Prior to covid pricing it was worth 17k

I've got a 2005 LLY 2500HD with around 105K miles.

Lots of performance goodies, built tyranny, performance torque converter,, up pipes, down pipes, exhaust manifolds. Cat delete 4" exhaust. Lift pump. EFI live, cold air intake.

I have a strong hankering for a new 3500HD or F350 long bed, but the price is astronomical. I would think I could get 20k for my truck with all the upgrades.

Thoughts?

I bought a 2006 duramax new for $40k I sold it for $25k with just over 100k in 2016.  The engine was great but started having lots of little problems with everything else.

I dont tow enough now so back to a gasser.  Sell it while the money is crazy

2005 Dodge Ram 2500, diesel, 4x4, 4 door, SLT, 187,000 miles

KBB says it's worth $10k-$12k.  Crazy.  I would like to have a newer truck, but I don't want to spend the money.

Still rocking my 06 LBZ. 187K miles and bone stock drivetrain. Been offered $15-18k plenty of times.
Not for sale.

A rust free LBZ will always bring north of 10k here in the rust belt.

Hell, I bought a rusty 06 LBZ with 194k on it for 8k last year. Rust free would add $5k easily.

If it was sub 200k, it could sell for damn near $20k.
