Perhaps:![]() Gas Prices Are Out Of Control. Here's What No One Is Telling You | Ep. 1842 Diesel Crisis and Market Impact: Walsh argues that Ukraine's targeting of Russian fuel refineries is causing a surge in global diesel prices (6:48 - 7:25), noting that diesel is essential for transportation and logistics. This shift is also affecting gasoline production as refineries prioritize more profitable diesel output (7:50 - 8:46). Economic and Political Context: The video highlights that gas prices have seen a record-breaking 52% increase during this midterm cycle (12:12 - 12:50). Walsh suggests that the current administration's energy policies and the ongoing support for Zelensky are exacerbating these problems (10:46 - 11:00). Potential Risks and Failed Solutions: The host warns against government-imposed export bans or price controls on fuel, arguing they would backfire by decreasing domestic production and causing shortages (20:10 - 23:40). He also discusses the depletion of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (27:48 - 28:51). Worst-Case Scenario: Citing reports from JP Morgan, the video warns that if global oil inventories reach an "operational stress floor," it could lead to severe energy shortages and economic instability (29:05 - 30:52). Walsh concludes by proposing that the government should prioritize ending the attacks on energy infrastructure and seeking alternative oil sources. |

Ukraine’s targeting of Russian energy infrastructure inside of Russia is just and an appropriate and necessary part of fighting Russia. I mean when you're the reserve currency of the world and oil is traded in Dollars then yeah we're kind of stuck with what the global value and demand is realistically. Doesn't help that we've shut down capacity. But this war really could have waited til after the Midterms lol. |

No, it is pure midterm cope. It’s funny how 2 weeks ago trump was saying oil prices would drop to levels never seen before as soon as the war in Iran ended. Now he discovered he can make Ukraine the scapegoat. Russia made 5–6% of the global supply of diesel. The Middle East is responsible for far more. Ukraine has been heavily striking Russian oil facilities for a couple of years. This was happening last year and Ukraine is striking them again as Russia repairs them. There wasn’t an oil shortage until iran closed the strait of Hormuz: * August 2025: Reuters estimated Ukrainian attacks had disrupted about 17% of Russia’s total oil-refining capacity—roughly 1.1 million barrels/day. * Late September 2025: estimates rose substantially. Russian industry sources cited by ISW estimated about 38% of primary refining capacity was temporarily offline, although that included maintenance and other outages. The same source estimated Ukrainian strikes themselves had disabled roughly a quarter of capacity —- Now it is estimated that 45% of russias refineries are offline, so not a large enough increase to explain the prices we’re seeing . If you do choose to blame the Ukraine war and not the strait of Hormuz, then at least blame Russia for continuing their retarded war and not the country fighting for its own survival. |

Weird. I thought we were supposed to hate Ukraine and not support them, because they weren't blowing up Russia's energy sector. And if they were serious, that's what they'd be doing. Maybe I misheard. |

Iran isn't just attacking American merchant ships. They're attacking everyone who doesn't pay them tribute. Yeah, the US sank Japanese merchant ships. Bit different than threatening to sink every ship in the Pacific that didn't pay tribute. |

MAGA will eventually forget about Iran until the next price hike. Rinse and repeat. |

Trump lacks the moral courage to do what will actually help open up oil supplies. He is paralyzed by fear that he will be to blame. That paralysis has him indecisive and whining rather than acting. If we lose control of the House and Senate, it is 100% his fault. His short-sightedness and lack of courage will bring his entire agenda to a screeching halt. |

Did not watch the vid but I follow this pretty closely. Ukraine has been hitting the Soviet refineries hard, reducing the amount of diesel to the world market. The world runs on diesel, not gas. Oil through the Hormuz is no longer the chokepoint. It's getting through in large amounts. Refinery capacity is now the chokepoint. We can also thank California for a large part of this, because it's doing everything it can to close refineries as well as production. |

Refinery capacity is the problem, and the Soviet refineries are getting hammered by the Ukes. |

Because of different countries having SPR’s of crude that they released. Fact of the matter is, the world is about 1.6B barrels of crude in the hole. Out of approximately 4B barrels in storage, that we don’t know the exact percentage that can actually be used. Again, I love these newly minted energy experts. |

It's a matter of perspective if one is being honest with themselves. I would not mind seeing Iran nuked, thats hardly being an apologist for Iran. Their current regime is a major threat to our country and I wouldn't miss them if they just disappeared, but I don't need to add labels to my enemies in order to justify wanting them dead, 'enemy' itself will do just fine. |
