This was posted on reddit, I cut it up into separate pics to make it easier to read.

I’m not claustrophobic but this would have been absolutely terrifying.

My buddies and I crawled through one of the tunnels in Cu Chi, Vietnam during a trip there in 2011. My buddy, Army vet, had to get out due to how claustrophobic the tunnel made him feel. I was cool with it, but, it does get to you after awhile!

My old boss was a tunnel rat in the USMC in Vietnam.  Hard to believe, because he looked like Santa Claus when I worked for him.

Color me a skeptic but where are the references for these cartoons?  Looks like something Hanoi Jane would cheer on as brave freedom fighters outsmarted and slaughtered capitalist puppets.

I’m not claustrophobic at all, have crawled through culvert pipe with no lights, caves, fall asleep in MRI machines, etc.

But stuff those traps, that’s terrifying.

Did the US ever try a trash pump hooked up to a local water source?

Me too I was there man.

Too many bugs and too dangerous!

Nope. If I can't completely stretch to my full height, I get claustrophobic. A tank would be bad enough, tunnels get a big NOPE from me.

When they started using 2,000 pound bombs the tunnels were often wrecked.

Not really it sucked in there very small and lots of bugs I don't know what they were... really dark too. They let you only if you volunteer me and some German went in and said fuck it and came back out pretty quick.

I had a Sgt. in W. Germany that did Tunnel Rat duties when he was with the 173rd. I remember him saying it stunk like shit and was crawling with rats. He wasn't really that small of a guy either. That dude had the 1000 Yard resting face.
