Getting fucking garroted in some dark disgusting narrow tunnel has to be in the top 10 worst ways to die.

How the hell could they dig the flues for the cooking smoke like that?

Where are the bathrooms though?
They have a kitchen, bedrooms, even a media room. But no place to take a dump. |

I worked with an old black guy that lost half his foot to a damn punji stick pit, they had to amputate after it got infected

With ground penetrating LIDAR and bunker busters the Viet Cong would be in a world of hurt

All that work, just so that they could have... Communism. Congrats comrades, you won! Now you can all continue being dirt poor and horribly oppressed by the shittiest economic system short of direct slavery. Good job commie fucks. And a large chuck of our idiot population wants it here.

I’m claustrophobic as fuck. I’m short of breath and panicked from just looking at the fucking pictures.

My old boss was a tunnel rat in the USMC in Vietnam. Hard to believe, because he looked like Santa Claus when I worked for him.
What a shitty job to have. |

Color me a skeptic but where are the references for these cartoons? Looks like something Hanoi Jane would cheer on as brave freedom fighters outsmarted and slaughtered capitalist puppets.

The water tunnel is probably the most terrifying, yet the least painful.

My step-fathers brother did a stint as a tunnel rat. When he was done with that job he got to pick any job he wanted. He became a driver for a general.

I’m not claustrophobic at all, have crawled through culvert pipe with no lights, caves, fall asleep in MRI machines, etc.
But stuff those traps, that’s terrifying. Did the US ever try a trash pump hooked up to a local water source? |
|
How did they get oxygen in there if it was so deep and water sealed entrances?

Video by a twitch streamer called jaystreazy who recently took a tour of the tunnels in Vietnam. Actual tour starts a little after 2 hours into the video.

Nope. If I can't completely stretch to my full height, I get claustrophobic. A tank would be bad enough, tunnels get a big NOPE from me.

Yup! I shot an AK, M16 and M60! It was fun! Damn, I guess we went through the turist tunnel. I don’t recall going through the “real” tunnels. I missed out. |

I had a Sgt. in W. Germany that did Tunnel Rat duties when he was with the 173rd. I remember him saying it stunk like shit and was crawling with rats. He wasn't really that small of a guy either. That dude had the 1000 Yard resting face.
