I bought a distressed house this summer and moved my family cross country. We love where we are now but it's been an expensive summer buying all new appliances and everything else involved with making a home "yours" (and some needed repairs to make it ready for a cold winter).
In July we bought a Weber grill. $650 at Lowes. That same grill today is $830. In July we bought all new household appliances (washer, dryer, dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator). I'll focus on the fridge here. Retail on that in July was $2700. Retail today on their website is $3500. (We paid less on sale). In September we purchased a new wood stove. We got the Ashley Hearth AW3200 for $1416. That same stove is now out of stock (another issue altogether) but Lowe's price on it is $2100. Home Depot's price on it is $2200 with the same out of stock status. I got a 10% military discount at Lowes so the pic of the receipt below reflects that, but it's not important to the discussion here. Moderate to major purchases of consumer items ARE increasing in price by 20-50%. It seems the main increases came within the past month, probably as companies became wise to Xiden's stealth tax on the middle class. These are just the things I've noticed and gone back and researched or looked at receipts for. So, what are you seeing out there Arfcom?  Attached File Attached File |

Canned beans at Aldi.
About three months ago were 50 cents a can. Then they went to 52 cents. Then 54. Now they're 57. 14% increase in just a few months. |

It is getting crazy in commercial construction. Aluminum storefronts are up 60%, most steel items are up 80-100%.
Since we moved here in January, groceries have been hit or miss and my wife ends up having to 2 or 3 stores to get everything. Our Walmart has got to be one of the worst Walmarts out there.  Benefits of NW MT still outweigh that.

Additionally, Knorr mushroom rice and Club crackers were unobtainium for a while there and constrained now. Also, I agree with you that our particular Walmart is horrible. My wife and I don't call it Walmart. We refer to it as "The place where dreams go to die". |

Chicken and beef are expensive as fuck. I walked through Home Depot the other day and almost everything I randomly looked at I thought to myself “huh, that seems unusually higher than I last remembered it.” How does this shit all play out. We recently got a whole beef from a local processer, and will be picking up a whole pig in a week from them. Their ground beef was $4/lb when I picked up the beef 2 months ago. It sounds like it has gone up a little since then, but pig is still "cheap." i need to go to Costco and see what brisket is up too. The brikets from our cow are pretty small. |

Compared last 6 mos spend at Publix (4/18/21 to 10/18/21) to same period in prior year / 2020.
Dollars spent are up by 19.93% over 2020 spend And I assure you we didn’t increase food consumption by that amount |

Back in June I wanted to order the prop for my airplane. I let Don, the owner of 92nd West Aviation talk me out of it at the time. I hadn't even completed my wings yet. June price... 20,750.00+Shipping/Roughly 2 month delivery time. As of October 1st... 23,615.00+Shipping/Delivery by the end of May. Fuck. Some stuff is available fairly quickly. Other items for the aircraft are not. Garmin is 6 months+ out on G3X also. No idea on Dynon. The prices haven't changed on the Garmin stuff that I priced from a buddy but the lead times are getting out there.... |

Got a renewal notice from our garbage carrier. 540 up to 689.00. So I called, got bounced to four different people, finally landed with Nikki. After listening to her babble on about this and that while clacking away at her keyboard (and 30 minutes from start to finish of my phone call) she announced I was down to 545.00 for the year.
Roughly a 26% increase?! For one year?! Yeah, no. |

Precious metals used for catalytic converters have doubled in price since 2017.
That's getting lumped onto the consumer, because there's no way the auto manufacturers and suppliers are going to eat hundreds of dollars per vehicle. Combined with stricter emissions standards coming up and that's probably $500-1000 extra per vehicle. |

Filter elements for my 10" big blue water filter housings.
The USA made string wound Shelco filters I buy are up 50% from when I bought a case of them last year at the same time. Looks like the foreign made melt blown ones up even more than that. Multifold paper towels I buy up about 13% Income... flat.

I haven't noticed a lot of drastic price increases or anything, but since most of my income comes from online sales I have definitely noticed the approximately 15-20% increase in shipping prices in the past few months. I've had to raise my prices accordingly.

We’ve take four price increases on domestically made raw goods that are now at 12 to 15% over last year.
Supplies like pallets , stretch film, tape , corrugated have gone up as much as 35%. |
