My girlfriend lives in Canada and is on disability there. If she comes here and gets her green card, will she be able to get on disability here in the U.S.? Please help me figure this out… |

To be eligible for a Green Card (lawful permanent residence in the US), you must meet specific requirements based on your situation, which can include family sponsorship, employment, or other humanitarian reasons, and may involve filing specific forms like I-130, I-140, or I-485. Here's a breakdown of key requirements and considerations: General Requirements: Public Charge: You must demonstrate that you will not become a public charge, meaning you will not rely on welfare or other government benefits. https://www.uscis.gov/green-card/green-card-processes-and-procedures/affidavit-of-support |
