I never sleep past 8:00, even on weekends. I suppose getting home at 2:00 AM had something to do with it.

For those of you who immediately thought that I'm an asshole who endangered innocent lives by recklessly drinking and driving... I hate to disappoint you. I had a hard seltzer when I got to my friends' house at 5:30, two glasses of wine after taking an Uber to the event, water after the Uber back to my friends' house at 11:00, on the road home at 1:00.

Who goes to an event like this, with safe Uber rides, an open bar, free food, and an option to crash in a friends' bed? This has to be the most boring thing I've posted in a while. No mayhem, no jail time, no puking on a rich chick's cocktail dress.

You kids have fun. By the way, candied bacon is God's gift.

I went to an open bar charity event at SOFIC in Tampa several years ago with one of my special forces guys I had consulting with me at the time. It was off the fucking chain. We had to get my wife to uber to the event and take us to our hotels.

We had a good group at the craps table. Everyone got $500 in free (fake) chips.

My buddy left $50 on '5' and the shooter rolled '5' five times in a row.

I put $50 on '8' the hard way and the next roll it hit and I got $500 back.

Overall I walked away from the table +$1500.

How come that never happens to me in Vegas?

No, but the Tahoe's suspension felt like it was going to fall apart at any moment.
I felt like it would have been safer driving drunk with my friends in my F-150.
