Those never grew on me I just want a regular wood stocked one with a threaded barrel and no rails.
|
|
You know, I'm strangely intrigued by that....
Dammit, I don't need ANOTHER "Hey! why not....." firearm on the list. |
|
Do it - but make it a tactical short barrel lever action. Maybe start with a detachable mag model and really go all out.

I recently tried a friend's uberti 1873 replica in .38/.357. Loved it.
Good woods gun carried with a revolver in .357. Good combo set up. |

Quoted: A 357 henry with a midwest rail and paint job has me hot and bothered right now And bonus time is right around the corner View Quote Amazing how bored of the ar15 people are now I say go for it have fun post pics if you get one. I've also been thinking of making an sbr out of one of those mares leg pistols |

I feel thats the one I keep gravitating towards Im not sure how many 'tactical' options are out there. I mostly just want the threaded barrel and ability to throw on one of those sexy rails |

Meh, I've got a JM Marlin 1895 stainless guide gun that's threaded with a three prong flash hider on it- I've never shot it. I do carry a tuned .357 Rossi 92 with a leather sling on it around the woods sometimes.

I’d kinda like to have a lever gun in .44 Special/.44 mag to go along with my S&W 24-5 in .44…….

Quoted: Those never grew on me I just want a regular wood stocked one with a threaded barrel and no rails. View Quote Same. I had my 30-30 336 chopped to 16" and threaded for a can and I love it. I tried an RMR on a section of rail, but I went back to a 3-9x scope in the 1" rings bolted directly to the receiver. I need to work up some subs for it with Trail Boss and 150gr plated flat nose projectiles from Berry's |

I like lever action rifles but the new style tactical ones have failed to grow on me yet. They look cool but I’m pretty sure their main purpose for existing is to sell rifles - the AR market is so saturated that manufacturers have had to mix it up and sell fancy tactical lever guns.
There is some benefit to running them with suppression though. They have a faster rate of fire than a bolt action and suppress better than a semi auto. |
|
For sure I do
I might be happy with just optics and a silencer might be 357 for sure, but maybe 45LC |
|
I like the idea of a decked-out 45-70 as a pack/camp gun. Why? I have no clue.
|
|
I have one (not that style with the fore end, which most have) never shot it.I looked at a Henry "tactical" 30-30 but 30-30 ammo is low production these days
I think Keifer Sutherland had one in "the final shoot out" in some action movie with Captain Kirk 2.0 |

MY x model .357 is currently my favorite long gun. It’s so quiet with a can and .38 special loads, shooting steel makes me giggle. Pfftt, thwack!
|
|
If I lived in a state that banned modern service rifles, I'd consider it.
|
|
I've always wanted one. There are just so many other things that take priority.

View Quote You probably dont have to worry about 158 38s going super with the longer barrel right? I reload anyways so I guess it doesnt matter too much |

I have a Henry Bigboy-X in .357. It's a riot with a 9mm can and 38spl. I use it with a YHM R9 and a YHM Sidewinder. Very quiet.
I have a ranger point precision handguard, but I'd recommend the MI with top rail. RPP is cheaper, but a PITA to install and no top rail. |

.357 side loader lever gun with a threaded barrel for my ready-and-waiting Octane
HELL YEAH! My dad was a retired cop and range instructor...he left me an ammo fort of .357 and .38 when he passed a few years ago |

I don't care for the aluminum handguards, but I could see getting one with a slim polymer MLOK handguard.

I really have found myself wanting a suppressed lever gun. But “tactical” means a not what I am after. I don’t understand the desire for it either, it’s just an odd combination for me. Everything firearms doesn’t need to be “tactical”.
But if you enjoy it, you do you. -Mike |

I have a strange desire for a lever .410 (no need for tactical though).
